That is usually the case, isn't it? You're good at these kind of reveal things.

Part 2- Our team launch a surprise attack on the beastman camp.
The plague doctor through an flammable gas bomb into the beastman's bonfire causing a large explosion. The soceress summoned the powers of magic and caused trees to come alive. The trees started stooping down to grab individual beast men and then fling them into the tree tops.
The mercenary warrior declared he wanted to enjoy this and drew his sword to charge int othe beastmen. The beastmen were thrown into confusion, but quickly began to get their act together to defend themselves. The mysterious assassin hung back firing her crossbow while the deathseeker rushed in with her axes, throwing one of her weapons at a large beastman leader, causing him to fall to his knees But beastman alphas are very tough and he picked himself, pulled out the hand axe and went after the deather seeker to get revenge. The two engaged in vicious combat, during which she chopped off one of his hands to retrieve her hand axe and then drove him back into the fire, setting him ablaze. As he staggered around, he was grabbed by a tree and disaappeared up to the forest canopy.
The mercenary noticed beastmen rushing to reach the sorceress to stop her magic, and so drew his pistols and blasted two of them before rushing over with his sword to stop them. With spell complete, and the trees now continuing to attack, she drew her sword and wand to attack the beastmen herself.
The plague doctor cut down a beastman before she was knocked over by a beastman and lost her sword during the fighting but then set off a poisoned gas bomb, causing besatmen to choke and cough up blood from the foul green fumes.
The mysterious assasin had by now drawn her two swords and helped wade into the fighting.
The beastmen brought out a huge, muscular minataur warrior in chains. They burned some strange herbs under its snout that seemed to rouse it from its stuper and drive it into a wild frenzy. As they unchained it, it got impatient, ripping the ring out of his own nose, headbutting a beastman and hurling him into the bonfire. It then rushed after the warriors, who scattered to avoid getting caught by the massive beast. A tree reached down to grab the minotaur but it was too strong and uprooted the tree before continuing. The minotaur was struck with with projectiles to weaken it. The Deathseeker shouted to the sorceress to hurl her at the minotaur using one of the enchanted trees. She was flung right at it, striking against its back forcefully and falling to the ground. During the fighting, she struck the minotaur with her great axe, though this didn't kill it and it pulled out the weapon. She was getting very annoyed at beastmen trying to get their hands on her weapons! It attempted to strike down on her with the axe, but she evaded it and then ran up the half of the weapon and drove her fingers into its eyes to gouge them out. The others attacked the minaotur, finally bringing it down as she tore out its eyes and then partially ate one of them.
With the fighting done, the area was now strewn with dead beastmen, stabbed, hacked, shot, poisoned, burned or hanging from tree branches.

Huh. So you've gone full "me" when it comes to gratuitous descriptions of violence, now, haven't you Hark?

This game is supposed to be a dark, sinister story so there is lots of grossness, blood shed and surprising amounts of beastman shit.
But I am hardly a stranger to excessive violence in these things! Raeeda pulled the intestine out of a nameless!
I will write more of this as I feel better. We actually finished the senario, I just need to write it up for you.

Awesome! But take your time if you feel like you have to.
Some people say that typing things out is easy and won't make you stressed or more sick if you are sick, but they're wrong.

The assasin woman's magical glamour had been disrupted by the fighting and she revealed she was actually an elf (with weird, grey/light green skin) on a mission to hunt beastmen. She had a shocking realisation when she realised that the mercenary warrior guy was not in fact a helper troll of some kind but was actually a human male and that human males just look like that. She had been refering to him as a troll for a while in what seemed like an insult, but it turned out this was a genuine mistake on her part (due to elves all being pretty androgenous).
The chracters found another note from the scientist they were searching for, this time implying he was becoming very disillusioned with peoples failure to understnad the importance of his mission.
The group heads back, but suspect the town mayor is betraying them, so are on guard. The town was full of people preparing for their celebration, many wearing animal masks. They are told by the tavern owner that the tax collector has died of his wounds and his body had been taken to the local temple.
At the temple the priest did not want to let them in, but the elf made a comment about how she hadn't sinned yet, but was 'fixin' to sin and its gonna be real, real bad." and then kicked him in the head.
Inside they found that the temple interior was decorated with crude symbols and altars to the dark gods of chaos. The tax collectors body was laid on the main altar, partially eaten. They found a page from the journal of the scientist they were seeking, where he basically said that beastmen were the superior race and that we should help them to destroy all those who tresspass against them. At this point they were interupted by a tall, thin, ragged man in a lion mask in the door way. Behind him gathered the towns people, all behaving strangely now. They were largely filthy and behaving in a wild, beastman like fashion. Beastmen were moving amongst them, but it was now hard to tell which was a peasent in a mask and which was a beastman.
The tall man explained that he was the scientist they were looking for, but he had come to a higher understanding and had joined with the beastmen. The Mayoress stepped forward and explained that the beastmen destroyed other towns for them and gave them all the treasure, as beastmen don't need such things. She then stated that beastmen has simpler needs...whiling stroking her pregnant belly.
Luthor the mercenary decided he had heard enough of this and used a pistol to shoot the mayoress in the belly.
As the towns folk and beastmen rushed into the temple, the sorceress used her magic to teleport the group away to safety. They appeared inside the town hall, where they quickly killed a couple of towns people who were engaged in drawing evil demonic symbols on the walls.
the town had now descended into anarchy as the towns people killed anyone who was not a member of their crazy beastman fucking cult, hacking them to bits. The mayoress, mortally wounded, was taken to the middle of the town by the beastmen, where some of their shamans and the evil scientist cut her open with a sharp rock to pull out the beast-baby. Over head, dark red clouds were gathering as the beastmen called on the powers of evil. This focused on the evil baby and caused it to rapidly grow into a huge beastman warrior, who sprouted an extra 2 arms (explaining earlier beastmen war cries about "four arms" and some of the odd symbles the beastmen drew on stuff that looked like a four armed figure.)
The good guys decided to take action. The main entrance to the town led to a large wooden bridge over a river, so destroying that bridge would cut off most of the town. The mercenary and the plague doctor set off to steal gunpowder from the town guard house and use it to the destroy the bridge. The secondary entrance was smaller, so the soceress and deathseeker set off to steal a wagon to block it. Once these tasks were done they would set fires to set the town ablaze and destroy the beastmen/town people. They sent the elf assassin to kill the scientist guy in order to complete their primary mission.
With the town in anarchy, the merc and plague doctor found the guard house undefended, expect for one guard who had past out drunk and another who was chasing after a pig with his trousers around his ankles. Prisoners in the cells had already been murdered. The mercenary killed the two guards and him adn the plague doctor started rolling barrels of gun powder to the bridge. After a while of doing this, more beastmen warbands arrived to enter the town, so they decided to blow the bridge to blow up teh new arrivals and then set about lighting some fires on nearby roof tops.
The sorceress and deathseeker went to a stable to steal an ox to pull a cart to block the smaller exit. There was a funny interaction where the sorcress started explaining about the magical ritual the besatmen were doing and what would happen at if it was interupted at its apex, which caused the deathseeker to say "apex?" showing she had no idea what the sorceress was on about. The sorceress tried to explained again in more simplified terms but then the death seeker sadi "blah blah blah, lets go." This made me laugh. They were interupted taking the ox by a beastman shaman with two guards, who had sensed the sorceresses magic. The shaman used his magic to make several animals in the barn mutate into new, horibly deformed beastmen. The deathseeker lept on the shaman and killed him and the tow of them managed to slay his guards, but the ox went running off down the street. They ran after it, chased by newly made mutant beastmen. The sorceress ended up grabbing onto the ox's neck and hanging onto it, but it didnt' stop so ended up carrying her off down the street.
The dark ritual started spewing out evil magic power, which caused the beastmen crowding to watch to be transformed. The weaker ones got warped into strange mutate horrors while the bigger more powerful ones to grow larger and have the magic form into scary black armour and waepons for them.
The sounds of the ritual distracted the beastmen made from animals, who were drawn towards it and abandoned their chase.
The sorceress finally got the ox under control and they used it to pull a cart infront of the main entrance. they then wrecked the carts wheels so it would be a barrier and started setting fires.
Seeing their chance, the mercenary and the plague doctor took control of a cannon on the town wall and used it to fire at the four armed beastman war lord. to their surprise they hit the creature, blowing a huge hole in it and causing it to topple over. They then ditched most of their armour and weapons and jumped into the river to swim to out of hte town.
The sorceress and the death seeker ran into the elf, who had the bloodied mask of the scientist who she had tracked down and killed. She led them up onto the walls where she attached some magic elven rop to allow them to climb down the other side to safety.
The beastmen and crazed town people were trapped within the town walls and, in their anrachic state, were not organised enough to deal with the spreading fires. The sounds of scream, animal cries and burning could be heard for far around.
The group met up again, and some of them were a bit surprised to see that the plague doctor actually looked completely normal without her scarey bird mask.
The elf thanked them for their help, but her task needed to continue and so she headed off into the forest to keep hunting.
The rest of them headed back to meet with the merchant who originally hired them. He was surprised they had survived. He agreed to pay them, plus a large bonus to give him the journal entries (which he quickly destroyed) and never speak of this to any one. You don't want people knowing your brother was fucking beastmen!
So the team made enough money to replace their equipment and still turn a tidy profit. The then decided to head north, where there is always work battling the barbarian hordes.
The End.

Definitely grim dark.
Sounds like pretty terrifying fun. Shooting the four armed beastman with the cannon... was that like a natural 20 or something that actually happened according to the regular run of things?

I think it was a 6 or better on the D12 (the dice of choice for this game) thugh had they missed the hordes of crazed beastmen would have gone after them. The super beastman was tough, but not cannon proof.
Players see cannon and gunpowder, you just know they are going to start blowing crap up.

Cannons and Muskets are the best part of the Empire in Fantasy Warhammer anyway.
"Non, je n'ai point de réponse à faire à votre général que par la bouche de mes canons et de mes fusils." ("I have no reply to make to your general other than from the mouths of my cannons and muskets.")

Yeah, that was why the mercenary guy got two big bad ass pistols as part of his kit. Gotta be able to blast some beastmen!
The story worked out well in that the final confrontation was more of a chase around town doing stuff, becuase they already had a huge epic battle with the beastmen just before. I didn't plan that really, at least not consiously, but it worked out well. Another big fightt scene would have seemed repetitive.

It seems more like a running battle to grab objectives than a pitched battle just to murder things. Which in this situation makes sense.
