I got Masai because they're known for being tall and very effective warriors in a similar vein. A lot of the specific culture I could not claim to know of course.

They aren't modeled exactly, like any Harko culture, but those are the things I was drawing on. To help you get the costumes- Maasai. Zulu.

I'm with StyxD, I know nothing about African cultures.
Just... giraffes are so awkward-looking!

Don't talk down to Giraffes, they can knock your head off. I mean that literally.

And I know it, but that doesn't change how awkward they look!
They've got bodies that look too small for the rest of them, and sloped arses!

True, but these ones are going to be bipedal, so it all works out.

Looking at The Princess... that doesn't look like a suit she's wearing at all, it looks like she's made of metal.

I agree. She literally has rubies for eyes.

10 points for observation skills, Renard.
I don't expect everyone here to be super familiar with different African cultures. The point was just to give you an idea what costumes to imagine so they look different in your minds and also to show off my work a bit. To westerners, we sometimes think of Africa as all just one big interchangeable thing, so it was important to show different influences and what sets them apart from each other.

Oh, sure, Africans get represented by various cultures, but the Native Americans just get the Ano-Chee! How dare you!
Wait... except the Ano-Chee have various different cultures within their overarching group. So... damn it, I was looking for something to be outraged about!
Anyway, I find Harkovast to be pretty good for representing different influences.

Yeah I nipped that one in the bud!
I have this wierd idea that I want people to kinda see something in Harkovast and go "Oh cool, that's our lot! Hooray!" Like I do when I watch an American movie and they make a positive reference to Great Britain (rather than us all being, to quote zero punctuation "Powdered wig rapists.")

The Brits really do get it bad in Hollywood.

Honestly these days movies tend to not give us quite such a bad rap. When I was younger, before 9/11 we were the go too force of evil but since then the trend has diminished.

Now its the Arabs.
Surprise!
I'm actually not all that sure if that is the case now. I just don't pay attention to movies anymore, really.

There days they tend to have it be evil white americans in suits as the ultimate safe option. It also allows for a twist like "oh no, our own side was the real bad guys!" When evil arabs are involved, they are usually only being used by an evil white guy who is the brains behind it all...which is kinda racist in its own way if you think about it.
