Sorry, that wasn't meant to be passive aggressive, I meant it sincerly. I might be using gender and sex the wrong way round because I can't remember which way it goes and thats something people sometimes get upset about. I wasn't being sarcastic. Sorry if it didn't come across that way.

It's all right. I probably overreacted.
It's ironic, because I've only brought that all up because I though you used "gender" on purpose, while "sex" seems to be the default word if you don't want to get into specifics. But maybe I'm not understanding English as much as I think I do.

Gender is the social construct about men/women.
Sex is the physical bodily makeup, chromosomes, genitalia, and so forth. ((though I admit, this isn't really a binary either...))
To me it seems that the Tendu do kind of change both. They physically change, yes, but they also slip into a different social role based on what their new body is best suited for. So that is worth considering, there are gender roles in Tendu culture (somewhat), but they're not really a bother, because people can switch back and forth as they see fit.

Yeha the tendu are changing both. Being medieval level people, they don't make a distinction between the physical and mental aspects of someones gender identity and/or sex.

Then again, they might not even have gender, and regard their sex as just another physical aspect of their being.
By the way, if changing sex can heavily alter a Tendu's body, would that affect their ability to retain their current lives? For example, if a guard is changed to female, would he be able to keep the job?

Yes, Tendu can keep their jobs. Tendu who are in fighting roles tend to want to be in their male persona and for potion making female personas are usually prefered. Tendu do sometimes undergo some changes to personality and behaviour with changing gender, though the tendu dont see this as any more strange than someones personality changing as they get older.

Hmm, a tendency. Because those squat unimpressive looking Tendu troops aren't the most agile looking blokes I've seen.

Hahah judge them by size, do you? Tendu men might not win body building contests, but thats because they are more built to win the strong man ones.

I wasn't saying that they're bad at being strong, just that they're not the most agile looking body type I've seen. Mashul is the leanest of the lot, and he might not even be Tendu.
Of course, I can't really be too critical, given that I look more like one of them than probably any other body type in Harkovast.

Weren't you the one linking to that fat sword guy that I said could win a duel or a pie eating contest?
Anyway, the prince is certainly physically tendu, and he is very nimble!

Mashul is pretty nimble, but as we all know, he doesn't behave like a proper Tendu. So... I don't know.
I mean, if they need to be more agile as a fighter, with less bulk, they could just become female and work with that.

That's true. They can change to a new fighting styleto fit their new body type. Also, just putting this out there...Shalem is a total bad ass. He was taking out nameless and priests of the west with just a curve knife! Check the reflexs when that one guy tries to stab him! He's a tendu so he appealed for peace first, but then he was stabbing all kinda guys.

Indeed, some of those Tendu women look like they could very well fight just like Zadakine.

No one can fight like Zadakine, they use dark magic and have spines made of rubber.

Interestingly it took a page titled "Chakram" for me to get that those were actually chakram.
I kept thinking those were heavy rings, y'know, like the one's the second master uses?
