Gods name: Tasuit (subject to change if you don't like the name"
What He/She does: Tasuit is seen as a thing of chaos and stealer of riches that targets those of wealth. he/she is thus preyed to in order to keep at bay. The wealthier one is the more of a target they may be to Tasuit. To believe in Tasuit is to believe that in an instance one may loss everything of value, for what's yours is yours till Tasuit decides it's his/hers.
Tasuit though is easy to keep at bay, as all he/she asks is recognition. a common way to do this is simply by opening thanking Tasuit for allowing them to keep their riches before sleep or during extravagant shows of ones wealth.
Tasuit though is also a god that can be bribed into causing misfortune and chaos on others though to do so the price is high. In order to turn Tasuits gaze in the direction of a hated individual one must take something of great value and destroy it by any means, the more expensive the object the more likely Tasuit is to fulfill the request. This has actually made Tasuit popular among the slave class because anything a slave may own is valuable to a slave so any object they destroy of theirs is bound to get Tasuits attention.
Tasuit is also known to take mortal form in order to trick merchants and nobles into deals that will leave them in ruins. if a deal seems to good to be true one must be weary as it may be Tasuit and a deal with Tasuit always ends badly. in mortal form Tasuit can be a male or female of any race and age.
Tasuit is commonly depicted as walking on his/her hands with torso and legs hanging in front and scale colour that of a rainbow. Tasuit is never shown with any riches of His/her own as it is believed he/she simply destroys all he/she takes.
Tasuit it is a god to be both respected and feared. because what's yours is yours till Tasuit decides otherwise
Renard-
Goddess of Secrets. I can't come up with names for stuff, that's your forte, so I'll leave it to you, but I do have a bit of an idea that I'll mention at the end.
Normally depicted as a disproportionately tall and thin woman with long limbs and black skin, she has many eyes on the front, sides, top, and back of her head, and dresses in dark blue silks. Her sect originated in a mountainous region in the south, known for it's many caves and caverns, and the remains of cities built long before the Raj. She's said to live in a palace carved into the living rock deep within the earth, with walls made of lapis and floors paved with sapphires, it contains a great library filled with the many things she has learned from mortals and gods since the creation of the world.
She is a keeper of secrets, and is often worshipped by scholars, spies, diplomats, and seers, anyone who deals with information and knowledge. Her favour is gained by offering her knowledge or personal secrets (either the worshipper's, or someone else's), they are written on paper and burnt at shrines dedicated to her. For example, scholars may burn a copy of a manuscript they have written at one of her temples, or a person looking for her help may offer something about themselves.
While slaves aren't officially banned from worshipping her, in practice they will often be harshly punished if their masters suspect that they are, fearing that they are using information about them as offerings.
Her shrines and temples are traditionally built into caves (natural or man-made), but if someone has a personal shrine a cellar will do. They're often decorated with blue and black cloth, blue flowers, and lamps made with blue glass. Her priests dress in robes, once again either black or dark blue, and wear plain, featureless masks made from lacquered wood. It's customary for them not to reveal their faces to worshippers, although some may not even reveal their names. The general appearance of her priests mimics the appearance of the creatures that serve her and protect her library.
As she is associated with forbidden and dangerous knowledge, some cults dedicated to her have been known to study and seek out dangerous magic and artefacts, and some have suggested that her worshippers may be connected to the Silent Gate, though this is not the case.
The goddess herself is known to be secretive for the sake of secrecy, and in her dealings with other gods she doesn't hide the fact that she knows many things that they do not. Her attitude towards mortals and even gods is entirely indifferent; she measures the worth of others by how useful they may be, or by what they offer her. In stories she may hinder heroes by offering to help them only if they complete a task for her first, no matter how dire the situation is, and she may be shown aiding both heroes and villains alike.
Though normally shown to have a dignified and calm (if very proud) attitude, when she is denied what she wants, tricked, or her knowledge or motives are questioned she quickly becomes furious.
There is some debate as to what she uses the offerings given to her for, what the purpose of her great library is; the prevalent explanation is that she likes knowing things for the sake of knowing them.
I had some trouble coming up with a name for her, but I did have an interesting idea.
I thought that since she is so big on secrecy, is kind of capricious, ad treats knowledge as currency, perhaps she doesn't like people knowing her name? In stories she may be referred to in various roundabout ways (sort of like how Homer used epithets whenever he mentions people and gods in his works), and she may become enraged when a god speaks her name, or when a mortal learns it.
Canuovea-
Vahtalab:
God/Goddess of Sandstorms.
A God who destroys order, reminding people that things are not static. She is entirely about change and social climbing and falling, just as dunes shift after a storm so to can society. As such, he is not particularly liked by those at the top of the social ladder, and would not be ranked among the main pantheon. However, slaves, conscripts, warriors, and often those who are newly elevated in position love her. Warriors and even generals sometimes put faith and hope in her if things are going badly for them in the field, because nothing shifts like fortune in battle.
His appearance, as both male and female, reflects the sand he is a patron of. Her skin is sandy coloured, to be, of course, reminiscent of sand, though this doesn't mean it is monotone, as sand also has slight variations of colour in small specks. He wears nothing but a wide blood red sash across her chest from right to left with an extra length of thin red fabric extending from his right shoulder over their back, as well as a knee length loincloth of the same colour. His eyes are a fiery red that stand out from any sand around them.
Depictions of Vahtalab vary from serene to full on cataclysmic. Sometimes she is depicted as little but a pair of gleaming eyes in a swirling storm of stinging sand. Other times he is relaxed or reclined and seemingly unlikely to ever bother causing harm (although this depiction is generally looked upon as wishful thinking rather than any true reflection of reality).
Also of note is that She can become a He and vice versa within the span of a blink, shifting sex as if the concept is meaningless, and the same can be said of age and beauty. Vahtalab may be strikingly handsome, young, elderly, or disgusting, within the span of a couple of blinks. Though usually he is depicted as beautiful by artists, but that is simply Tendu taste. The reason for this variance is, aside from change being Vahtalab's schtick, is that change and upheaval comes to all no matter age, sex, or beauty. Again, somewhat unsettling for certain Tendu.
I read these out to Red_Ned is a dramatic voice to see which one he liked best without telling him which was which.
He said he had assumed they would be mostly shit and was surprised that he liked all of them and thought I should use all of them. He really didn't want to have to choose just one.
I pushed him to choose one and after much umming and arrghing (he swayed back and forth a lot.) he went for Tasuit, goddess of chaos and stealer of riches.
So the winner is TECH!
Hooray!
*blow trumpet, does a dance*
Have 500 harko poitns ot celebrate your victory!
I will draw up some art work of the various gods shortly.
