Neat. I know the feeling of digging up old models... though for me it was more about the test of time and storage. That did enough damage and they weren't even moving anywhere!

Everyone's got the battlefleet gothic bug it seems!
I got the computer game, but I need to mess around with my graphics card to run it...
At least it's a bit cheaper than playing the miniatures game!

Cool Ned, if you get it playing let me know for a game, or if you want to try that graphics card I was on about, my bro has it now as a spare if not he has a amd 5450 and another thats spare they may run it at low settings surely one of them may fit your comp. to be honest i've just been writing up a set of campaign rules for it just may need to play test it first.
Yeah thankfully not much damage and found a few spare stands so thats a nice bonus!

Oooh nice! I see some forge world space marine escorts and forge world eldar light cruisers in there. Those are super rare and hard to get hold of these days. On ebay they can fetch seriously wacky prices (Ive seen them go over £10 a model for a titchy escort!)
Your fleet may be small, but many BFG players would be very jealous!

Worth mentioning, I have also got the computer game (because of course I fucking have!) but I am waiting on getting a better computer later this year before I play it.
When I do, I will let you all know how I get on.

Yeah bought a few things from Forge World about a year before they decided to get rid of them which was a shame as I would have liked to have built up a Tau fleet as I perfered the FW ones to GW.
I got 3 of each space marine escorts, 2 Aurora's and 2 Solaris (so long as I can find them). If i remember rightly my Eldar's about 2500 points but every cruiser heavy which is never good for them, Chaos is about 1500 and same with space marines. My Helios I've ordered should come in about 1500 to begin with. Only downside is I've had to get a different battleship and light cruisers style from Shapeways and going to have to do another order for a few more Dreadnoughts and escorts in a few months to get it to where I want it (2500).
Steam id = Mitchca26 if you want a game.
To be honest I think the PC game doesn't have the same feel to it and with the way the ships *circle* their target is kind of against how I remember playing the TT game. Ramming seems to be very over powered, yet very easy to do unless you are fighting eldar then it is impossible. Some of the missions are very annoying as the Steal data mission you have to watch out for the comp, stealing it back and jump before you have chance to steal it back from them. However off topic they are now developing a Necromunda game which is going to be done like XCOM.

I have a lot of good memories of necormunda back in the day. We fought some epic gang wars! My goliath gang, the Hot Loving Jazz Daddies were the most bad ass pimps in the underhive. I got forge world tau while they were available, but missed out on teh space marine escorts. Fortunately I found someone who could make copies for me. Im very into custom/alternate models for the game at the minute (cause Ive got loads of the regular models.) Are these the ones you are getting? If anything, I think there are more models being made for the game now then when GW was still making it (you just have to know where to look.) Post a link to what you are looking at one Shapeways. Ive got a few things from there. Its expensive but there are some really cool things.

Yep they are the ones I am getting. I asked them whether they are planning on doing a Light Cruiser / Battleship and the reply wasn't what I was wanting. "No plans in the near future" and when they were going to do a re-stock. Saw the dreadnoughts were back in stock a day later so thought I best get them as they said they keep selling out when they do a re-stock annoyingly I may have to pay for delivery next time unless i get some more cruisers for hulks. My Retribution Battleship is going to be this and then i chose Light Cruiser (Endeavour) its going to be Battlefleet Bakka list, I think at the moment as the fluff kind of fits. With the smaller / older ships used. So the Helios' ships are the "newer" ships replaced after Tyrannic War. They are all very heavy towards WB and lances with very little options for attackcraft. My original plan was to do a Voss Prow fleet but with GW selling all the stock pretty fast so came back to my project now with these. My Full list is Retribution 345 (ordered) Mercury BC 255 (Firedrake using the frontal cannon as a Nova.) (Ordered) Dominator 190 (Firedrake using the frontal cannon as a Nova.) (Ordered) Jovian BC 260 (Full on Attackcraft (6 Launch Bays's other option would be a Dominion BC 4 Launch Bays with loads of extra weapons for same price) Lunar 180 (Ordered) Gothic 180 (Ordered) Gothic 180 Endeavour 115 (only one at the moment to see if the model fits in with the size and colour scheme. If it does may fill the other 5 cruiser slots with these if not then may have to look at adding reserves into it) Sword x 6 210 (Ordered x3) Havoc x 6 210 (Ordered x3) Viper x 6 210 (Ordered x3) Any comments / opinons welcome and suggested tactics. Right now with the limited attackcraft I think its just rushing up using the 6+ prow as a shield wall and then firing broadsides while using the torpedoes to scatter my oppontent and hope the Jovian can keep up with a fighter defence to keep bombers away.

I've only played the BFG computer game tutorial, but my onboard graphics card crashed when i jumped to warp. Must have entered a warp rift or something...
I've got a decent graphics card (Geforce GTX 1050) that set me back £100, so that should be plenty powerful when i bother installing it.
I saw that necromunda game (well the 1 image of an empty room for it). You can't go wrong with such a classic. Just keep Van Saar as the techno gang and thus massively better than everyone else and it's fine.
I'm so out of the loop with real BFG. £20 for a light cruiser!? Madness! I'm so tight I would just scratch build models...

hahah you can spend £70 for a battleship on ebay!
Top tip when buying from Shapeways... ALWAYS get the ultra frosted detail.
It may be expensive, but lower quality is false economy. The models come back so lumpy and crude that they are only useful for wrecks. Ive seen pictures online of the lower quality ones people have ordered and they look really fugly.
I use Helios ones to represent a fleet of humans that have defected to the Tau. The models are awesome. Not chepa but very nice. The cruisers are a bit bigger than normal imperial ones.

Yeah a 1050 will play it easy as my 950 was ok for it just a little jumpy at times. Might want to try it again as the game isn't fully bug free.
Van Saar all the way as who needs muscle in a gun fight
Cool, I'll have to see how they all turn out as can't remember which material I ordered but the main bulk is the Helios ships.
I was looking at eBay first but they are similar price or insane prices
Oddly they have loads of ork stuff still in the box been sold. You still got your orks Ned?
I just hope GW bring it back and make decent models to fill the gaps.

Real men play Goliath because Goliath are demonstrably terrible with most of their skills being almost entirely useless. When you win as Goliath, you add insult to the injury!

Haha the orks are still in the boxes because they are totally useless in the actual game, why bother taking them out the packets?
I gave all my BFG stuff to Hark, probably for the best cos I woulda sold em all on ebay at those prices!
The guys making the necromunda game also did a mordheim game. I think it's a safe bet that it will be pretty similar to that (as in 'inspired by' rather than a more direct conversion).

Haha, they weren't that bad just totally random with the firepower. Just got delivered my Retribution and lightcruiser. They aren't looking too bad to say I went for the strong black flexible, so might have to get a few more of the "strike cruisers" after all as in the next post got a picture of scale for the normal imp crusier vs this proposed light cruiser.
