Since May doesn't have the majority she expected, she has had to scrap a large section of her manifesto. She was opperating under the assumption she was be able to bascially do whatever she wanted, so all her most outrageous Tory plans have had to be discarded. Let's take a look at what she has had to scarp- -The so called Dementia Tax
-Means testing winter fuel payments
-rolling out grammar schools
-Free vote on fox hunting
-Axing universal free school lunches
-An energy price cap
-Ending fixed 5 year parliaments
-Ending the "triple lock" on pensions
-rolling the serious fraud office into a broader national crime fighting body
-clamp down on executive pay
-And Donald Trumps state visit.
So after all that I have to wonder...what the hell was the point of voting for her?She has abadoned about half the things she claimed she was going to do already!

It's a shame about the energy price cap and grammar schools being scrapped (assuming the latter option would deal with some things which were issues in the past, such as the 11+ basically being used to ration them, secondary moderns being awful and a lack of secondary technicals).

Well, she's not going to get a chance at making it happen.
Also... you just heard about this? She was on about fox hunting ages ago.

Yep, in an age of falling living standards, terrorism and an ever growing divide between rich and poor...May's top priority was allowing rich people in the countryside to kill wild animals with packs of dogs.
She's got her finger on the pulse of the nation, that May!

May gave a billion pounds to the DUP (the homophobic, sectarian, religious nutters with links to terrorists) so they would vote with her, allowing the Torys to block an attempt to raise pay for nurses and fire fighters (the same fire fighters Tory's were praising after the tower block fire.) The Tory's then cheered about this "victory". You can listen to them here.
Its a strange feeling when you realise your country is apparently being run by cartoonishly evil super villains.
So if anyone in the uk has been wanting to vote for a party that will take money from public service workers and give it to religious extremists and bigots...finally they have a party they can vote for.

I think the Tories are going to be destroyed the next time around, unless they can somehow turn things around and win people over. They're going to have to start by getting rid of May.

Renard, a lot of people within the party only want her to stay until after the Brexit negotiations are over. They finally realised they need to actually do something to win young voters over, but I read that the Tory election machine is ridiculously slow (eg: they printed leaflets which emphasised May during the first week of the campaign but then got sent out in the last week despite the realisation that focussing entirely on her was a bad idea). I agree that voting down the public sector pay rise was stupid too (if you're willing to spend £1 billion on the DUP and a ton more on pensions despite not having access to Corbyn's Magical Money Tree, it's hypocritical to do something like that).

The reason May is clinging to power like a mad woman is that if her government collapses and another election is called, it will be a land slide but in the other direction now.
They've got to hold off on that happening at all costs.
I've said this about Trump, and its true for May- Sometimes a leader can be so horrible that their best feature becomes their incompetence. Literally the best thing I can say about May is that she is so bad at politics that she can't get things done, so most of her horrible policies are falling by the way side. More and more of her horrible manifesto is being dropped in her desperation to keep power. Realising how bad cheering for stopping nurses getting a pay rise looked, a lot of Tories are now preasuring her to change direction on that issue, so even that may yet change.
Yeah, in an ideal world we might want competent leaders or leaders with morals, but our leaders now are all such dirt bags that them just failing to get anything done is as close to a win as we are going to get.
