Your enemies can't break your spine if you don't have one.

That is a somewhat coherent point.

Sexism, homophobia, warmongering and a lack of Democracy all bother me too (I just don't consider those to be as awful as slavery). Realistically, if I hated all races equally based on those things being parts of their culture, the only ones I'd like to any degree are the Nymus. Admittedly I'm not a fan of how Gyos create priests either but I still like them as a race (unless the boys who are neutered for the purpose are given the option of not having the procedure done while being fully aware of the effects it will have).

Horsie, wait, I said Gotetra? Dang. I meant, obviously, Golta. And I would probably hate the Zadakine as well, but I can't bring myself to after RPing with the jolly bunch.

I don't hate the Zadakine. I just wouldn't want to live in their society.

Randian isn't quite right for Zadakine. They aren't selfish, they put their children first and consider family super important.
But they are uber capitalists who are all constantly trying to get one over on each other! Oligarchy is probably a good way to describe their strange government.
It says something about them that they need priestess' with built in lie detectors who are 100% honest in order to regulate them!

But they are the closest to the Randians, aren't they?

Hmmm... The Wu-Yao are very libertarian, viewing all government as oppression. THat might be closer in one sense, even though they are more spiritual than money focused.
Of course...Hendrick was the most Randian of all!

Yes, but Wu-Yao don't usually seem to be the kind to oppress others and use them as wage-slaves and such. Zadakine actually have a structure in place, which in my mind makes them more Randian than Libertarian.

I would call the zadakine capitalists more than randians. As I said, without that fundamental selfishness it doesn't seem quite right.
They hate charity, as she did, but the reason is very different. They see it as deaming the person you help, for her it was that selfishness is good because she was fucking evil.
I suppose wanting to be paid for everything is a bit Galt's Gulch, but again the motive behind it is different. Its more about the dignity of the person rather than the worship of greed.

@tempest; I don't think that the Gyo priests are selected like Nymus and Zadakine priests, it's probably something people choose knowing that castration is a part of it.
@styx; so you don't like the badgers? I'm afraid you'll just have to rethink that.

The Gyo priestesses are transexuals. They aren't forced into it. Gyo consider someone who is a combination of genders to be a sacred representation of the river god they worship.

Sure, the Zadakine might be more capitalist than Randian, but they're the most Randian.
Because a Randian "nation" would collapse as soon as they tried it.
You know, the Golta almost have more in common with the Tsung-Dao than the Zadakine, at least in attitude.
