This is a new fleet I've been putting together lately.
It's based around numerous elite space marine chapters each sending forces to combine on the rightious crusade against the enemies of Mankind.
I deliberately used many varied and different models and conversions to give the sense of a very disperate forces from all across the Imperium.
I painted each model in a different colour scheme, with each scheme being based on a different space marine chapter. I didn't make the colour schemes up out of thin air, these are all official chapters in the games background (though I deliberately picked obscure ones!)
The whole fleet, ready for action.
White Consols Battle Barge
This one is converted to a Dominion Class Battle Barge, with additional launch bays. Here is is supported by is nuermous thunderhawk gun ships.
Storm Wardens Nova CLass Frigates
Star Phantoms Nova Class Frigates
Sons of Medusa Strike Cruiser. This model came from the 3D printing site Shapeways, by the artist Armanda.
Check out his work here.
Silver Skulls Strike Cruiser with its thunderhawks.
This ship has an alternate prow and side panels from the Resin Addict site.
You can check out his stuff here.
Mortifactors Strike cruiser and thunderhawks. Lots of cool skull symbols and a bad ass skull turret!
Mentors Nova Class Frigate.
Marines Malevolent Gladius Class Frigate.
Mantis Warriors Battle Barge with Thunderhawks. I add side bits on to the prow to give it insect like 'mandibles'.
Lamenters Strike Cruiser with Thunderhawks. This is the ofificial Strike Cruiser model.
Guardians of the Covenant Hunter Class Destroyers.
Knights of Gryphonne Gladius Frigates.
Death Strike Strike Cruiser.
The one was converted with a space marine model from the old 40K epic range, as a statue on top of it. (My finger there was to make the camera focus on the right thing!)
Flesh Tearers Strike Cruiser with thunderhawks. This one is also by Armand, and the thunderhawks are by Void Crucible.
Check out the Void Crucible website here.
Exorcist Strike Cruiser with thunderhawks. This is a Gray Knights strike cruiser from the old Forge World range. The exorcists use grey knights gene seed and specialise in demon hunting. I filed of the grey knights icons from the prow and replaced them with transfers of mystical runes.
Celestial Lions Strike Cruiser and thunderhawks.
Disciples of Caliban Hunter Destroyers. All the hunters in this fleet are from Dark Angels related chapters, as the background states they are the ones that use this type of escort the most (and I want to make it all extra authentic!)
The names of the ships are all taken from the background as much as possible, either being ships that the background talks about or named after things from each fleets background.
And yes, each ship with launch capacity gets its only correctly coloured thunderhawks, cause my space marines are pimped out!
