The card game comes with virutally everything you need. Asside from the cards, it includes a physical rule book, counters, coins (with The Mariner's head scratched out on them) and dice to keep score.
An interesting fact is that the game includes lots of dice but these are only ever used for keeping track of scores, you never actually roll them to generate a random number.
The game doesn't need any pencils or paper or other crap to be played.
The only additional thing I would reccomend you purchase is card sleaves. These are extremely cheap and you can buy clear card sleaves from any games shop.
The reason I say this is that even though the cards are pretty good quality, if you play the game a lot they are likely to get a fair but of wear and tear. If they start getting marked and worn it might affect your game play, and you probably wont want to purchase a whole new set of cards. So I would suggest investing a few quid in card sleaves.
Other than that, the game will have EVERYTHING you need to play asside from another person.

Psh, I don't need another person to play with! I am perfectly capable of simulating the presence of another person by pretending to be them all on my own!
...I'm so alone.

Canuovea's right, fighting another person to play is going to be the biggest problem. I also have pretty much none. And knowing me, it'll be incredible if I manage to get the "online multiplayer" version of the game within next year. We all need to have a meetup, Hark. It's the only way some of us are ever get to play it.

You could take it down to a games club/shop in your area and see if you can find an opponent. Knowledge of the comic is not needed to play the game.

I suppose I could try that, though I wonder if people are going to be opposed to that "furry" thing...

I'm going to badger my brother and his friends into it as well as my girlfriend (if she is actually over here long enough to play it).
Half thinking about getting the word out there about it too.

Anything to get hte word out would be appreciated, Canuovea. We are probably goign to have a go at releasing it as a kick starter initially, so really the more people hear about it the better.
StyxD haven't people in Poland read Redwall? Watched mutant turtles? What is the world coming to?

Imagine getting it featured on Table Top. If viewers liked it, you'd be funded in about 0.5 seconds.

Yeah but lets not get our hopes up too much. I just want to try to get it out there to people as much as possible, but we have to remember that the odds it catching on and being a big hit are very low.

StyxD haven't people in Poland read Redwall? Watched mutant turtles? What is the world coming to? Ninja Turtles were a thing that was, I think. I certainly remember it was present during the time of my childhood, though I didn't watch it myself. As for Redwall, I'm not even sure if the books were translated into Polish. I remember neither knowing about it, nor have met anyone who read them.

This might be me being naive, but I think most people aren't that worked up over talking animals one way or the other. I think its usually just viewed as kind of a kids thing, rather than weird or freaky, so I can't imagine it will be a deciding factor if you ask someone to play. The amatuerish art might be more of an issue!
Honestly though, I think if people give it a go they will be pleasently surprised.
