What have I been up to? I've made/I am making a TTRPG After the Fall (NSFW)That link goes to the main design Doc. you can comment and suggest edits. Near the top are links to all the other docs and spread sheets Bestiaries, random roll tables, descriotions, random events, etc... SO what is it? If you see the acronym CoC, and your first thought is not call of cthulhu, this will sound familiar. Setting Humanity became so decadent and corrupt that they tore reality assunder, and een the pillars of heaven were shaken. A third of the heavenly legion fell to earth, reality became malleable and even torn in places, and civilization fell to ruin. In the present various factions survive and even thrive. Extremists push agendas while moderates just want to get along. Zealous angels wish to impose tyrannical puritanical rule, and are still ticked off about falling from heaven for reasons that really were not their fault. Demons wish to corrupt the world even further. Eldritch things are coming through holes in reality. BUT also Angles do what they can to live up to and promote the virtues they are supposed to represent Demons, who are just angels who decided to turn away from asceticism, just want to have a good time for themselves and others Venerators of the eldritch things enjoy and spread the gifts they have received from the other side, but often understand not everyone would be into a realm of primal want. Mechanics simple combat. go adventure, roll random encounter. fight something, find something, or witness something. repeat. Statistics for many things. From Strength to Anal Tightness. Random transformation items, perks and flaws, magic items. Why I made this This is how i most recently have decided to express my sexuality. Game form. I have gone as far as I can without some good game testing. So I thought I'd let y'all look first before i go to the Fenoxo forums. Even if you don't want to play, I would appreciate y'all looking through it and leaving comments of thoughts.

Its certainly inventive.
Having read it, the sexuality stuff is there, but you could almost ignore it if you felt like?

Certainly sounds interesting, I may not have time to go over it and give my 2 cents until Friday.

I will get my main man Red Ned to take a look for you. He's super sharp at game design and should have some good input.

I'll certainly have a look, even though I'm not really that knowledgeable of game design. The setting itself sounds intriguing enough to warrant interest... although I must say, "anal tightness" is a reference to a perhaps not-so-great RPG of the past. Is there a chance you'd run a game on these very forums, Tiberia?

Yes. My game shares similarities with FATAL. That is unavoidable. But there is a reason my game is different
short version: My game doesn't suck
Long Version: A very carefully worded essay about rape culture, the social contract, allusions to BDSM practices, the way in which things are presented, reality V. fiction, what makes rape wrong and what makes it traumatic, the nature of fetishes, fantasy V. practice, and sex positivism.
Its less GM tells a story type game, and more roll random encounters as a group and supply description. Narrative doesn't need to go much further beyond "adventurers go on adventure". So I'm not sure how I would run it on the forum.

I am so relieved you said that! I am goign to be honest I was thinking of FATAL but didn't want to offend, so I am glad we've addressed hte elephant in the room. Why...do I need to roll up penis size? Do I have to make penis size related tests?

Do I have to make penis size related tests? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Not yet but in seriousness part of the game is about changing physically from various items and events, so I included stats for the majority of features people may care about. I drew a lot of inspiration from corruption of champions. So while its not necessary its sort of like spending hours in an mmo designing an outfit. except in this case its your body. Later I am implementing archetypes. if you fit the stuff for an archetype you get some sort of bonus. and stats are needed for those. PS You didn't ask if rolling for breast size was necessary. Sexist!

I've read through the docs, but I think I failed to comprehend them. So don't treat the following as a critique, because I don't think I'm qualified to give it.
The setting does seem fascinating. And the factions give a lot of possibilities, plus an unconventional but valid source of conflict. I would certainly like to see a game unfolding in such world.
But I don't think I get the idea behind the myriad of stats. How it adds to the game. In FATAL, at least we know it was misguided attempt to simulate everything plus a shovel-load of creepyness. And the sexual stuff seems mean-spirited to me. Like it's a framework that's meant to make it fun and profitable to rape things. I dunno. Maybe that's the point.
Maybe an example of play would make things clearer to me.

I think if I make a character and he fails a penis test...I might be too embarassed to keep playing him. I know it happens to every character now nad then and its not a big deal, I dunno...

You can buy a Demon Fluid to help you with that, though.

The organization is not the best atm
Much of the statistics have no mechanical effect, think of them purely as cosmetic.
As for the subject of rape... Groan
no that's not the point. No its not meant to be mean spirited. No its not rape for fun and profit fukken normies reeeeee
Ok. I knew this was coming. Before I go further i would like to say something about the nature of rape discussions
Discussing rape is nigh impossible. It is all but impossible to discuss it rationally because everyone has such emotional feelings on the subject, and outside of private discussion it is just about certain everyone will lose their objectivity.
Why do I bring this up? Because everyone has lost sight of what the hell rape is. It is at the point that people consider rape worse than murder. Which is just short of saying "it is better to commit suicide than be raped", which is nowhere close to being true, or even ok to say.
In After the fall, and imo most erotic games, it is generally a safe assumption that others are down for sex, or would simply treat it as rude or inconvenient. So while at times sex may be classified as rape, it is not as severe a transgression as in real life
No this is not how it works in reality. No you can not assume such things safely, ever. Yes I get tired of mentally, and verbally rehearsing this follow up every time the topic of rape comes up, just so people don't assume I have no concept of reality vs fiction, because people love to jump to conclusions.
I wanted to leave it open to many people's fantasies For example, some fantasize of being hypnotized for sex, others fantasize of hypnotizing others (Tangent, hypnosis in reality only works on consent. its a myth that you can hypnotize someone into doing things they don't want to) It would be hypocritical to naysay other people's fantasies while catering to my own, especially when they are just two sides of one coin.
You say mean spirited (not sure in what way), I call fun.
And yeah a certain level of maturity is expected
edit- If this feels defensive its cause being seen as a "rape supporter", as ridiculous as that title is, is a serious accusation. No-one accused me of that, but you have to head the possibility off.

So, basically, it is safe to say that in this setting society has generally changed to the point that humans are more like bonobos than current humans when it comes to all things sex?
Because while bonobos will fucking rip apart another bonobo who attempts to use violence to get sex, that rarely happens because they're so lassiez faire about all things sex.
So... In most cases, "rape" in this setting wouldn't really be rape since it would actually be consented to after a fashion. Probably. That's a bit of a mind bender, true enough.

You may think that my main issue was that blurb about rape as crime, Tib, but it's not really that. I get that in a game like this, it may be necessary to loosen things about rape, for the sake of players and the world. It's fantasy, so things like this go. But when I perused the rules and the tables, it struck me that the seduction mechanic is rarely if ever called for anything other than situations that end with sexual coercion if lost (if won then I suppose it's up to the player, anything can happen). This skewing, to me, is what makes this "mean-spirited". The rape is not just an element you can adjust, it's par course for almost everywhere you can go (as written). Hell, even in non-seduction failure consequences (where endurance hits 0) it mentions "and they're probably taking advantage of you". The language at times gets rather demeaning, I wouldn't call it sex-positivity, myself. For example, some fantasize of being hypnotized for sex, others fantasize of hypnotizing others See, it's a thing I didn't want to call attention to, but you conveniently did that for me anyway, so here goes: as it's now, the rulebook indeed seems to only carter to people who like this sort of coercion. For example, the TF stuff exists, but I don't think it was given half the writeup of magically coercing characters for sexual acts. Which is fine, I suppose, as an expression of sexuality in game form, but you might want to note in the opening, so people know what to expect. As it is, if someone does not enjoy coercion fantasies, I don't think they'll enjoy this game as written. To be fair, I don't seem to have the right mindset for this. So maybe my opinion is void. Though I was really interested by the idea (crazy for me, I know).
