I had a random thought that if I was a decent enough developer a fighting game using DnD-esque characters I've made could be pretty cool So I starting wondering how my characters would play, and I ask the forum if your characters were ported into a fighting game, how do you think they would play (Strengths, Weaknesses, playstyle, etc) ?
Argos Tihr is my buff boi Dragonborn Fighter from 5e who uses a large shield and is beefcake enough to use a pike one handed with his shield. He would be rather interesting, as his pike would give him great reach and his shield great defence. His crazy high STR (20 in 5e, porting to OSRIC for a dungeon crawl with Tempest and he has 18 (97)) means he hits like a tank, and his 18 CON (19 in OSRIC due to racial bonuses) plus his big shieldmeans he is also REALLY tanky when it comes to taking hits. However his choice of a pike would mean his drawback would be a weak close range game and his attack recovery wouldn't be the quickest. This means he would be an absolute MONSTER at his favored range, and he could take hits while trying to get back into his preferred distance (A few tricks like a low damage shield bash that has high knockback would go a long way to helping deal with close encounters). He would be the standard slow bruiser, but with a range-controlling twist (Zangief with a pike so to speak).
Pelsta is my first stated character, and is a catfolk javelin throwing Ranger/Rogue with a large shield (Late-Roman style oval scutum) and high Dex. I suspect for him the best setup would be a powerful longe range javelins, and quick very short range dagger attacks combined with some nimble rolls to close distance or get to the enemy's back (For increased damage). He isn't very tough, nor all that hard hitting per strike, but he can move around quite quickly and can still block if he needs to. He would be the type to maintain distance to annoy enemies into trying to close, then punishing them as they do (Guile with a knife and javelins I suppose).
