Eagle eyed readers will have noticed there is now a link next to the comic to a PDF of the Clash of Nations rulebook.
So give that a look and you can get an idea of what the game is all about.

There's a lot of unnecessary or misplaced commas there.

Hahhah I will tell red ned and he can go over it. Can you tell me which pages they were on?
Its a living rule book, so we can easily make changes to it.

I'll take another look. I'm now a certified teacher with grammar lessons under his belt. Christ but this has been a long time in the making.

Yeah sorry about that! You will be able to buy it in aprox 4 days as of writing this.
There have been a few changes as we made some additional improvements to how the game plays.

The rulebook is pretty much the same as was proofread on here ages ago, I just changed a few rules that got taken out and updated the pictures. I think the reason for the commas being strange is that a rulebook is an instruction manual, so doesn't flow like normal text. Instead it has a series of connected instructions, so commas are used more often than normal. I deferred to Canouvea and my dad (who does proofreading) on the grammar and stuff, so let me know if anything needs changing and I will fix it!

PAGE 3- "...Harkovast for two, three or four players" I would rather make use of the Oxford comma here personally, adding it after three. But if you don't like Oxford Commas, and think Stalin and JFK are strippers, then don't bother changing it. "Harkovast for two, three, or four players" Same deal: "Nobility, Guile and Might." -> "Nobility, Guile, and Might." Same deal: "Purchasing Champions, Regiments and Territories will aid players in this goal." -> "Purchasing Champions, Regiments, and Territories will aid players in this goal." New Deal: "With each successful Challenge, players will accumulate Wealth and Power - the first player to achieve 12 Power will be victorious!" remove first comma -> "With each successful Challenge players will accumulate Wealth and Power - the first player to achieve 12 Power will be victorious!" Remove Comma: "All across Harkovast, nations are mustering their strength to defeat their rivals" - "All across Harkovast nations are mustering their strength to defeat their rivals" Remove Comma: "Perhaps you will dare to call on the mighty Wizards of Eldex to aid you , or pay the terrible price demanded by The King in the West to lend you his terrifying power." Remove Comma: "After you are familiar with the game and feel comfortable with a more advanced version, you will want to start playing with these rules." Note, seem to be using - like a semi-colon. That's fine. PAGE 4-Add a comma "The strength the Unit has in Nobility, Guile(,) and/or Might (see page 12)." Add a comma "These symbols are referenced by other Units, Territories(,) and Challenges." Add a comma "Champion, Regiment(,) or Territory." I think that's about it for now since I'm tired and don't know if the lack of the Oxford Comma is deliberate or not. If it isn't, well, almost all lists encountered so far seem to lack it. If it is... then fine.

I will see how Red Ned feels about commas. I tend to think as long as we pick one and it's consistent throughout, its okay either way.
Exciting news- Red Ned is working one a printable version of the rules. It will be stripped down with no examples, pictures and will just be black and white so you can print off a version to refer to.

Yeah, it has been consistently not-Oxford. So you're probably fine.
