This is so genuinely creepy that I think it could work not-ironically!

Funny? Or child abuse?
Or means it can be both!

This is hilarious. He has a at least another one of these.
Anime is weird sometimes, but it isn't like everyone else has a strange genre or two.

Smithsonian did a documentary about Japanese warrior women. This is just a teaser:
More info:
My girlfriend pointed it out to me recently so I've not been able to watch it... but apparently it mentions that at various battle sites from the late Edo period the remains were about 30% female. Note that this is at battle sites, not for siege defenses (where perhaps most of the combatants would have been female as that was expected of female Samurai). That is interesting.
I've talked to an Archaeologist and he says the basic result makes sense, generally they find more female bodies than the historical sources would suggest all over the world. But he found it a bit odd that they were so specific with the percentage, and it was a bit more than he'd expect. He'd want to check the details before he agreed with it 100%, even if it did fit the trend.
Poorly named though. "Samurai Queens" please.

"Sorry, video is not currently available in your country."
Um, what? Isn't the Smithsonian headquartered in the US? How the hell can it not be available?

No idea. Might be a Canadian branch or something? Quite odd. It did make me interested in seeing the full thing though.
This is the Youtube one:
Although frankly that video kinda contradicts the apparent archeological evidence... why would they be so reluctant to include women in the army if there were likely some already involved?
