Quinn-Tain is the guy Eldex sends went shit needs to get sorted out. HUNH! I thought he was this...young, not quite rebel? But wanted to take a more hands-on approach to dealing with the West, and now goes about directly countering the West's schemes. But basically being the Eldex troubleshooter explains much about his methods and style.

Really, I'm not too keen on muskets, I've only used them a handful of times, enough to know that I prefer my cartridge firearms any day. Muskets are as good as it gets for guns in Harkovast though, since the skunks (who used high-powered air rifles, like the Girandoni) are extinct. Golta have the added bonus of being badgers, and badgers are very cute.
Being dull is the Tsung-Dao way, they're even more obsessed with routine than I am.

Scorpion is about right. They make a mess of things. I think that heavy cavalry would be in a bad spot against those things.

Well, as evidenced by my profile picture, I'm a rather big fan of the Zadakine. Intrigue, trade, assassines, and weasels, yes please. It's not the most equal society but it's stll fairly interesting, and personally I also haaate owing a debt also.
Also gotta say I'm a bit fond of the Golta, they seem like a good race to play a character you want to give a sort of shock to, in an out of their element kind of way. I also found it amusing in that one rpg chapter "The word Toplish is not actually in the charter."
As for ones I don't like, hard to say really, I've not spent the time thinking on that. I am kind of not too keen on Toplish, they seem to have done an awful lot of harsh things.

Was that when Senchos revealed he had a better understanding of the charter than the golta quoting it at him?

That was it, he was talking to Pin Point.

Interestingly, both characters appear in the card game.

Yes that was it, the thought of the expression that Pin point must've been wearing at that moment, simply priceless. I do like the idea of the charter though, the paranoia is somethign I think I'd have trouble with playing a bit, but I'd very much like to try playing a Golta out. Again in part because I think they'd make for a very fun character to play and have them be shocked by what some of the other races are like...for better or worse depending on what happens.

That was inspired by a conversation I once had with my mother in law.

Well it wasn't the exact conversation. We had been at 4th of July celebrations (I was in America at the time) and mentioned watching the 1812 overture played by an orchestra with cannons going off.
She, trying to make a smart remark because she hates me (yes, its a horrible cliche, but there ya go) said "You do realise what that tune is about, don't you?"
She was implying it related to the war of 1812 between Britain and America, as a dig at me.
I said "Yes, of course. It celebrates the Russian victory over the French in 1812. It's strange really that America plays it at the forth of July since America was more closely allied with France than Russia at the time."
She said, awkwardly "well there was another war going on as well."
I had learned the origins of this piece of music a day or two before because that year we went to waaaay too many fireworks displays and during one of them a conductor of a band had explain this.
The moral- As Red_Ned always says "If you are going to be a dick, you have to be right."

How come nearly everyone loves Zadakine and Golta so much? Come on, people! Lizards and wolves? Anyone?
