I'm going to write a couple of descriptions for races I haven't explained before. I should be able to get on with that by Sunday. So there ya go, something to look forward to.
Do you want me to tell you which races or do you want to be surprised?

hrrm...Surprises sound good. ...As long as none of these races are luchadors (Will explain later!)

You mean you don't want a race of masked wrestlers? What's wrong with you?

I look forward to it.
I'm fine with surprises. I could get all strategic, but I won't...

No, lucha race WOULD be cool, but... Basically? I was mulling over the Brorg-Dao idea and... maybe this is just me being overly concerned/worried about this, but I don't know fighting styles! Like, if you asked me to write out HOW I'd have my swordsman outfight another dude, I don't know I could do that in a legit way. So whatever I do is probably going to need some serious magical aid, possibly to the point where I end up stuck in either a Darsai tin can or a Junlock Ice Zerker one. Or a mage of some sort...But magic doesn't really seem like the biggest thing in Harkovast? But, long-story short, I've settled on this combat style that's kinda flight/luchador-momentum-flip based? I THINK I understand how that might work, but... Luchadors mean that's taken, and that I'm probably going to need to figure out something else.

So... like Judo? I'd take a cue from Judo rather than pro wrestling.
I don't know much about using swords or martial arts, I'm a gun person, and even then I'm not very experienced with muzzle-loading weapons, and not at all with flintlocks. I just make shit up as I go and use a bit of common sense (if something sounds like it would give my opponent an opening without giving me much of an advantage, then that's probably the case).

Hmm there is a bit of lucha lack at the minute. Wearing a mask, climbing on things, jumping off, flipping over in the air and then landing on someone. The life of the Luchador is awesome.
Zaelix in the rpg you need to master fighting styles in real life in order to talk about them. That's why I'm a martial arts, sword fighting, archery and jumping away from explosions at the last minute master! It's a bit like how you need to be a real life special forces soldier to play Call of Duty and be able to play a guitar to play the rock band games. I am being silly, of course! Describing something that sounds convincing is a whole different skill to really knowing how to do it. Also, all the characters are super human, bad ass mother fuckers, so they can do awesome stuff that normal people in real life would not be able to pull off.
Your knowledge doesn't need to be much beyond "I remember a cool thing a guy did with a sword in a movie once...I'll have my character do that."

Yeah, I'm the sword type. And I've got Ayzebel who uses a bow a lot.
I think that actually posting your opponent to death is going to be rare. You'd have to imagine a situation where the enemy couldn't actually do anything, get the GM to have the fight get into that situation, and then say "nah nah! The character can't physically escape the trap I have set!" I've done that a grand total of once.
So basically, don't worry about not having the skills for things.

I think I saw a guy come back from the dead in a movie.

We know that IS technically possible.
In Harkovast, anyway. Those Ano-Chee!

Can, which event were you thinking of where you talked someone into a situation from which there was no escape?

Probably involving the mine in the first book.

Not quite no escape.
The Tahmus. I didn't have to block anything, just have Marcus cut at the man's arm and it would have come off, so it acted as both a block and an attack. I recall suggesting that the man might have a bracer that could get in the way, so it didn't just end there. The fight continued, with Marcus hitting the man in the bracer as a form of blocking. But Marcus' attack would have taken the man's arm off.

The guy could have aborted his attack to move his weapon to block. Did he have a shield? I can't remember. I don't think attacking the attacking limb is an unbeatable technique though. I don't remember the specifics of that fight though. I am pretty sure I can usually think of some way to get out of trouble.
