Warmachine was undermined a bit by being a different actor. The new guy was fine and all, but it spoiled the impact of him finally getting his own suit. That was obviously something outside the control of the movie makers.
What was not outside their control was how the guy can instantly operate an Ironman suit perfectly, can just walk in and take one with zero security and can power one despite not having a reactor in his chest. And then just steals it and gives it to the army and no one bats an eye lid.
Urgh.

Didn't teh suit Warmachine stole have it's own reactor? But yeah, no problems with suit, no security issues, etc, etc... Though now that I think on it, if there was some sort of remote off switch for the suit, what would prevent some clever bugger like Whiplash from using it to depower Iron Man in the middle of something? But aside from that, Whiplash's last plan...I didn't like. The first time it didn't matter that he lost, because even in defeat he went 'hey, I'm a random russian guy but I have arc reactor tech! Tony doesn't have the market cornered!'. Even if Hammer didn't bust him out, it still caused problems. Plus, there was that pallidium note he tossed to Tony, saying 'oh yeah, and you're going to die from radiation poisoning because arc reacter in your chest 24/7' The second time... Instead of Tony having more competition and looking like more of a partyboy, he gets to hero up, and stop the threat. It reinforced that he should be the one in charge because even Warmachine was suborned. Though I feel like that one mighta been more a case of 'should have walked away from the table'...

To be fair, the biggest flaw of the Iron Man 2 movie (in my opinion) was the fact that Tony broke the law in front of government officials, on live TV no less, and walked away without any consequences.
You can prove the government wrong about the suits, but that doesn't stop them from arresting you and taking them because you just broke the law by hacking into their computer systems. ON LIVE TV.
