Drinking age is 19 here, but 18 in Alberta. Some people actually drive to Alberta just to legally drink. As you could imagine, this can backfire horrendously.
Grade 11 though? Huh. In some places it goes to 13... which is all very odd to me.
Only needing a license plate on the back makes sense.

thing is though I checked and a grade 11 highschool graduate is not considered a highschool graduate outside of Quebec

Of course not... but if they have post secondary stuff then there isn't much they can do.

Do they just not want graduates leaving or something? Why wouldn't they make it equivalent?

that I don't know, the whole only to grade 11 thing is something that came about with Bill 101, so it might just be a way to keep the French stuck here while discouraging people that aren't french to move here because the high degree doesn't count outside of Quebec.

Oh? Then yes. That seems like it probably was done for that reason.

Yup, if I got a teaching degree here then went to a different province I'd have to do a few more years of schooling to be a teacher.

I guess I'd have to do a bit of touching up too, but... uh...
Okay. Maybe that isn't as egregious as it could be. But it is still pretty shitty.

yeah, I think it's safe to say Quebec has pretty bad schooling systems in place. worst yet they under fund the english ones quite a bit compared to the french ones

To the best of your knowledge, how is the actual education itself?
