All the talented people left a long time ago (read- were driven out because they treat their employees like shit.)
On their rule books now they don't put the names of the designers. Would you bother to try hard when you write the rules if you literally get no credit?
One of their top designers Andy Chambers, who made Battlefleet Gothic amongst other classic games, is now working on Dropfleet commander. That guys presence was one of the reasons their kick starter was so successful.
Its the same story with loads of their other super star designers.
They keep letting all their talent walk away.

Isn't MELEE COMBAT the most sacred form of fighting or something over in 40K?
I can't tell if that's supposed to be one of the 'lol no design skills used anymoar!' models or 'hey, this is from when GW was GOOD.' models.

I guess I just don't get the whole thing with guys stomping around in massive suits of powered amour, especially the ones who only use swords and crap like that.
The Wehrmacht employed a gun that could penetrate 6" of steel plate at 2km, so why aren't they using anti-tank guns to deal with guys in armour? They employ rifles these days that can take out light armoured vehicles, so why aren't those making life hell for the guys in powered armour?
