alrighty so I got my hands on a comic that really stood out to me. it was mainly the cover that first drew my eye to the hardcover comic. Canada's capital building crumbled before a giant robot with a U.S flag on it is not something I see everyday.
The story itself is actually rather original. mind you waring nations aren't all that new for comics but one that places Canada defending itself from an invading U.S who's after Canadien water because Canada may have bombed the White House (though there is a suggestion that maybe the U.S bombed itself so they'd have a reason to invade).
The contents of the comic itself aren't actually half bad and the ending is definitely an amazing one but the comic I feel is missing length. it's a six issue comic that feels like it should be twelve, it just feels rushed with so much unanswered. Even the ending itself though good doesn't feel like it should just stop there.
the comic does also sometimes come off as trying to be "to Canadien" to the point it comes off as fake. lines like "we're the Two-Fours" comes off as a funny nod to a Canadien saying (that what we call a 24 case of beer) but then lines like "a real Canadien would know who won the cup in 11" just comes off odd. there is even a part were the story character basically goes "ah ha I know you're a lying American because you used the word "hydro" wrong". another part that bugged me is how there is this character that only speaks French. I mean at least they have one person complain about not knowing what he says but the thing is most Canadiens don't actually know French and me even being raised here in Quebec can't actually read French so there is a whole characters dialog that stems the whole comic that I have no idea what any of it says because I can't read it and they don't give a translation bubble.
Again in it is an okay comic but honestly it's average at best.
