Thanks. That seems to always happen naturally.

On her way home from the US (where she refused to say anything about Trump's latest executive order barring people from several Muslim majority countries, after saying she'd be frank and open with the new administration), she stopped by Turkey to take the first steps towards selling them fighter jets, possibly paving the way for future defence cooperation, and arranging a quick post-Brexit trade agreement, the very same Turkey that's doing a pretty good job of shedding democracy and respect for human rights. At the rate things are going now, by the time the UK is officially out of the Union and in a position to go ahead with a bilateral trade deal, Turkey may well be a one-party police state.
I know the government needs to think about ensuring the UK is set in terms of trade once out of the EU, but Turkey? Right now? Would May try to work out a deal with Pinochet if he was still in power?

Yes, she would.
And Trump would put another Pinochet in power.

Sounds dreadful. Then again, "nationalization" always does to someone from former Eastern Bloc. I would expect Western Europe to have more civilized standards for the thing… right?

Sadly, this sort of thing seems to be a part of how the unions were able to cause a lot of problems in the '70s. I remember Hark commenting when Thatcher died that her anti-union reforms were necessary, but it seems as though Corbyn believes that sort of thing was beneficial.

Oh, but don't you not like Austerity?
Nationalization of some industries makes sense to me. I think it depends on what exactly he intends to pledge to nationalize.

I don't like that. I can't help but think that simplifying the tax code and being more enthusiastic about collecting it from higher earners would probably solve that issue (not that the Tories really want to). He wants to re-nationalise the Post Office, power companies via a state-owned competitor, trains (his plan here is to nationalise them once the leases private companies have on them) and to nationalise buses.

Buses are basically nationalized here. The Post is... well, Canada Post is the baseline, I'm pretty sure they're at least kinda nationalized. Same with BC Hydro, which we get our power from. Not sure about trains though, pretty sure we have some private companies for that.

Austerity seems to be total bullshit. Everyone who isn't already rich seems to be getting poorer.
Something fun, Corbyn was in Rotherham and I wasstood about 5 feet from him while he gave a speech. And you all talk to me on here, so that's like 2 steps of Corbyn.

Honestly I am up for nationalising them, just to try a new way of doign things. The current arrangement seems to be just working through a slow, drawn out decline. Rail services seem to get worse all the time as things stands.

How was Corbyn's speech? I've heard things were generally inefficient when a lot of those services were nationalised (mind you, it doesn't seem like the trains could get much worse than they are at present). I'm sorry about not replying to this earlier; I missed the notification somehow.

So in the first 24 hours after the attack in London on Saturday night, Donald Trump post one Tweet offering US support, and 6 either blaming political correctness for the attack, or saying that the attack proves that the US needs his travel ban.
On Sunday Sadiq Khan told the people of London that they'd see more police officers, and more armed officers, in the city in the coming days, and that there's no need to be alarmed by the increased police presence. Trump responded;
Which isn't what Khan said at all. Trump was called on this, leaders have condemned him. Today he further said;
We already know Trump is an ass; imagine if the British PM mocked the mayor of a major US city following a terrorist attack? Who the fuck does that?
Just as important, why is May refusing to condemn his comments? She's been called on it by other politicians in the UK, and she's responded that she's not afraid to tell Trump when she disagrees with him. But she's not doing that right now.

May has promised to over turn human rights laws if elected. I have to admit, its an original pitch...
