He definitely hit the ground running. I kinda expected he would, he doesn't seem like the type to take his time to get into the swing of things.
We all knew what he was gonna do anyway, it's not like he was playing his cards close to the vest. Still, there are folks running around complaining that he didn't moderate once he got into office. Not sure where they got the idea he would.

Yeah I guess I was naive. Though I would argue this is getting weirder then most could have expected. I mean were at the point where its kind of testing the limits of what a president can and can't do while in power, like some kind of massive game of chicken.

My father said "what did people actually expect? He's doing what he said he would."
Gee, Hilary is so awful though, eh Hark?

Yeah Hillary is still terrible, thanks for asking. Laughing about the time she got that pedo out of prison doesn't look any better, nor her support for the Iraq war, desire to pick fights with Russia or all the other bad things she did/does. Once again we see the proof that the only good thing people can say about Hillary is "well at least she isn't Trump!"
Honestly, that's another example of why the left is losing. I criticise Trump and get a smug "Haha, that shows you." Its pretty much liberal play book 101 at the minute. Yeah I guess that taught me a lesson, a person who never supported Trump in the first place.
The left is far too keen on crowing about their inevitable victory and then being surprised when it doesn't materialise. The left talks about demographics like they are destiny and its just a matter of time before everyone agrees with them. The confidence that being morally correct will automatically translate to winning is dangerous and misguided.
If you want to imply I regret anything I said about Hillary or the campaign, absolutely not. I said the truth as I saw it. She ran a terrible campaign that alienated voters and cost her a race that she should have been easy to win. The democrats and the left had every advantage and threw it all away. Hillary's speeches made me physically cringe. The media would talk about how inspiring she was like it was the emperors new clothes and we cant see and hear her for ourselves. Almost every element of her campaign was misguided and out of tune with the mood of the nation. The democrats and media took victory for granted and then *shocking twist* they lost. If I should feel guilty for being honest then I don't want to feel innocent.
When I told my brother that the left is losing the ability to argue and debate, while the right is getting better at it, he said it was because the right was bringing up things that were settled 80 years ago. My response was that obviously they aren't settled if people are still arguing them. When did progressives turn into George Dubya Bush? Declaring victory while the fighting is still going on?
Let me throw down a possibility, a frightening one. Maybe most people in America support what Trump is doing?
The protests were large and formed quickly, but they were in air ports. Most Airports are in big cities, and are usually left wing liberal areas. Basically its going into liberal central and doing something they hate. So the fact there are these big protests and out cry, doesn't mean that's necessarily how the public in general feel. The media are pretty liberal, so their negative reaction is also just a small bubble of people making a lot of noise. The last election showed how out of step they are with the mood of the USA.
There have been polls done that suggest a substantial majority of Americans agree with what Trump is doing.
Now we've all learned that polls are bullshit etc etc, but we have to accept the possibility that while this might outrage some people, it is entirely possible that a majority are okay with it.
I think about the town I live in. If you did a referendum on banning all Muslim immigrants, it would totally pass. I mean that's just the reality. I would be shocked if it didn't around here.
The establishment assumes everyone wants multiculturalism and maybe most people just don't.
I can say those people who don't want it are wrong or they are racist till I am blue in the face but there is a need to acknowledge the reality that perhaps my views on these things are not the majority that I always assumed they were. Maybe Trump is giving the people what they want. It's dark and its dreadful and I don't like it, but maybe most other people feel differently.
Is it possible that I am on the wrong side of history?
