Valid criticism time- The sartosans look less like pirates than the imperial free company. And why do they have axes instead of pistols and swords?
I was just expecting upgraded free company, these guys seem random.
(Yeah and I know they used axes in boarding historically, but come on! This is not what I imagined for sartosan pirates!)

Why would you bother with sword and pistol Free Company when they already overlap with the gunnery mob with pistols? Just liable to run away.
Sartosan Free Company have cheap AP AND they've got something nothing else on the roster does to my knowledge: Vanguard. They're unique enough to not overlap so I think they've got a good place in the roster. Doesn't mean I wasn't hoping for more human units than just one, though.

I can live with an axe for game play reasons, but they dont look like pirates at all. They are just generic empire guys.
Its wierd cause normal free company look MORE like pirates.
Also the animation on their axes looks weird. Its the animation from great sword, and you can tell cause they move strangely. They wave the weapon like its heavy near the bottom (like a sword) rather than heavy near the top like an axe should be. It looks odd!
Why don't that have pirate hats? Everyone else does!

And I'm pretty sure the axes are just norscan ones reused. The sartosans just feel a bit cheap, and I was quite excited for them.

Nope. Beastmen axes.
I'm fine with them using axes. I mean, boarding axes were kinda a common shipboard weapon. And cheap early game AP infantry with vanguard? Nice.
But they hold those axes rather strangely. Its almost like they're holding greatswords, but its clearly an axe. So... yeah, the animations are janky.
As for the rest of their looks, I dunno, hard to care when I'm looking at the way the axes are held.
On the other hand:
They want a novel. Well, short story. See Andy's immediate reply.

Yes! I saw that its beastmen! It looked wrong so you could tell it had come from somewhere else.
Modders will fix a lot of it but the sartosans are the one thing that its disappointing. Everything else is great.
I like the sound of their play style, blasting everyone with mega fire power!
I am swaying towards playing Direfin. I can go on a musical world tour to share her talents with everyone. They should all be great full! Dying is a small price to pay to hear musical perfection.

Oh gawd I just saw her trailer! She can summon a ghostly battle ship to broadside the enemy! I love it!
I saw your comment, and it might be that she is summoning the Shadewratih and vanghiest to destroy her foes. That would be a cool way to include him. That was my first thought after seeing it.

The only good thing about sartosa pirate models is that everyone agrees about it. Its rare to see everyone on that forum on the same page about something.
Its unifying!

Red Ned is sure they are place holders and he's fairly knowledgeable on computer modelling and stuff.
We shall see!

Then why would they bother revealing it now though?

Companies fuck up sometimes was Red Ned 's opinions. Like the put the wrong models in, or the models weren't finished so they put in place holders and didn't communicate that very well etc. He seemed pretty sure, as he says he's seen similar wierd stuff from companies showing unfinished things.
OKay you were asking about vampire counts update... This is less likely, but they could do more with vamprie blood lines. I don't think they will, but I thought i would throw it out there.

True enough, I suppose.
As for this idea about bloodlines... come on Hark, really? How would they implement that? Maybe some new skills that lock others out? Like the Norscan Lords? That's the most I think we can hope for.

You asked me for ideas! I was trying to throw out something a bit less obvious!

Fair enough. Just seems a bit much for something that should be comparable to the Dwarf update... s'why I'm not so sure people are going to be pleased with the Empire update.
