Two per race works a lot better, the combinations allow races with a common element to still be vastly different.

In the first draft of version 2, a lot of the evil races only got one element at first, but then I reorganised it better. Ivos had fire originally, but then I realised way too many people had fire.

Now Ivos don't have really active magic, but I bet that it helps in keeping their military equipment in good condition while on campaign!

I just worked it out and the Junlocks will get 5 more heroes and 2 regiments. So thats 3 rpg characters, that lady junlock from canuoveas story and the reporter lady, unless anyone has another preference.

What did the Golta have before? Just fire? Did they always have muskets?

Adding in Junlocks puts us at about 76 cards to go.

They always had guns but they were more vaguely defined where they were kinda generic medieval guys with hoods and guns. There was an early version of the Gunsmith as an insentive that reflects this. But then I played empire total war and got a three cornered hat related mood and found a way to make them more interesting.
I think Golta were technology originally, then got tech and fire when they gained an element.

I cant find what I did with the older Gunsmith version at the minute, I will try to dig it out to give a comparison.

That'd be great, I don't think I saw it before.

The Golta are much better now.

I used to draw the feet too small and the necks all weird. The Golta were originally planned to be relatively thick and kinda unthinking, like they all do what they are told without question. They were going to be controlled by evil priests who tell them all what to do, the rulers being a bit brighter than the rest.
It's important to keep in mind they were originally just another type of mook.

Something that does carry over from that version is the Golta's general negativity and grumpiness. That actually works well since they draw on colonnial Americana a lot, I think its nice to have them go against the grain in some ways (in this case contradicting the general stereotype of Americans as optimistic and positive.)
