Not through whacking like a spiked mace can. I am still baffled that a wad of cash also does more damage. Sure the mace has a higher knockdown power, but you would think it would do much more damage. Then again, the game thinks the SMG version of the AK is much harder hitting and much more accurate than any AR minus one modded into a DMR (as are a large selection of pistols).

In Fallout 4 there is a named Super Mutant Behemoth dubbed "Swan" who you can kill to get the best punchy weapon in the game. I had Strong with me and he was beasting around with Grognak's Axe when we met Swan. I charged in with my modded in Albion Crecy and learned you can parry the big prick.
Just don't try it with a knife, a knife is not sufficient.

Really? What the hell?
You're using the wrong weapon though, you should be using a .308cal combat rifle like all the cool kids do.

I need to try out all the other behemoths, might spawn one via console and see if my sword can stop their attacks as well. Though I am not sure why the crap that video has a dislike.
That chick isn't even level 20, she can't get a .308 combat rifle like all the kiddies use (bonus points if it is the one in Vault 81 that shoots two bullets for the price of one). However she is going to be a melee build so she isn't going to be shooting things much. I have enough shooty-thing characters as is.

That's the one I got, the one from Vault 81, I was able to install a couple things since I put points towards the guns and science perks as early as I could, then got lucky occasionally and found upgrades on weapons I found on enemies as I levelled up until I was able to make my own upgrades.
Just remember that guns go "bang", blades and blunt objects don't, that's a sign of their inferiority.

I much prefer the explosive bullet perk, good old Pray and Spray from Cricket is by far the best tool for taking out bugs and Mirelurks (shoot the ground beneath them and let the splash damage tear them apart) and it works great for making Suiciders go up in smoke and hitting people behind cover. Put that on a laser rifle with a beam splitter for the most over-powered weapon short of the BFG9000.
Guns go bang, but blades make heads fly off and are shinier.

You have legs, you can solve that distance problem.

And if they have a Fat Man? Or there's a lot of them?

If they have a Fatman, you REALLY want to get close so they can't nuke you. If you are in among their mates their mates are blocking their shots and getting in each others way (There is a famous WWI dogfight where a German ace in a Fokker tri-plane took on a whole squad of Brits on his own and the fact there were so many of them and only one of him was advantageous as they kept getting in each other's way and had a hard time keeping track of him).

If they spot you on open ground before you can close the distance you're in trouble though!
