Dooku could have been kept under wraps, but no, as soon as he pulled out a red lightsaber we all knew he was a Sith.

Dooku and Sheev (Shiv?) are both silly names… but I think we can all agree, they're more dignified than "Snoke"!
(And only the other day I was wondering what was Palpatine's first name and if it is even given anywhere… thanks, guys!)

No.
They're not.
Sheev is worse.

Maybe someone needs to get Marcia out of retirement so she can direct the new movies?
Another EU retcon thing I hate is kyber crystals. The heart of a lightsaber. The concept of a bunch of non living crystals loaded with force is stupid. For one that means that The Force can be harvested from something without life, which doesn't make sense. For two it means that the lightsabers are powered by The Force to make a weapon, since their only purpose is to kill it means they're using Dark Side energy or are a horrible bastardization of Light Side energy. It undermines the Jedi use of it instead of using the Dark Side for lethal engagements. If you're just gonna use the force to cut someone in half you might as well just force choke them. Kyber crystals really should have been a unique energy apart from The Force.

Urgh Gawd this is like battle of the embarassment. Yeah I think I have to go with Canuovea. Sheev is just awful. It sounds like Steve. Like "hi sheev! How you doing? Taking over the galaxy?"
Snoke is a terrible name, don't get me wrong.
Mind you Dooku sounds like a name for poop.
ANd lets not forget the new contender l3-37. Dated internet gamer talk for characters names...cause that will age well.
I think Sheev is worse than Snoke...but the all time worst...I dunno...

Kyber Crystals use the force? I just thought they were some energy thing. I never thoguht light sabers ran on force. They are just a waepon Jedi use...or so it seemed. I mean you turn them on by pushing a button!
The Disney star wars films are all about an important theme... Fuel. All of them are about fuel one way or another.
Force Awakens the star killer is powered by draing its fuel from a nearby sun. Rogue One the bad guys are mining those kyber crstals for the death star (which works like a light saber now I guess?) Last Jedi obviously has the whole running out of fuel theme. And in Solo the big heist to steal valuable fuel.
In the originals and prequals Im not sure anyone ever even mentioned fuel or how things are powered, but now they just can't get enough of it.

Hey, Sheev!
My man, Sheev, the Sheevinator!
How's it hanging, Sheev? Wanna go tie one on at the Mos Eisley Cantina and you can be my wing man just like the old days? Turn on that ol' Sheev charm?
Oh, shit! What the fuck happened to your face?
Forget that, I'm going to see what Snoke is up to.

ANd lets not forget the new contender l3-37. Dated internet gamer talk for characters names...cause that will age well. Well, at this point it's so aged it can age no more. So that won't be a problem. They could have named her W0-K3. That would be less aged and maybe someone would actually chuckle. Hey, Sheev! My man, Sheev, the Sheevinator! How's it hanging, Sheev? If you ask me, the first association that comes to mind with Sheev is a space superhero. The mighty Sheev Lazorr! Or something.

I now want this to be a character so fucking badly, you have no idea. I burst out laughing when I read that. That's awesome.

Regarding Dooku being a 1-dimensional evil guy, I'd say the same issue applies to Vader and The Emperor in the original trilogy too due to how little personality they have (Vader's seems limited to killing minions who displease him and wanting Luke to join The Dark Side while Palpatine's is limited to wanting Luke to replace Vader, if that could even really be classed as a personality trait). Dooku's motives for falling don't really make sense considering how he acts either; he vowed before the Battle of Naboo that he'd leave the Jedi Order if 1 more Jedi died due to the Republic's machinations, Qui-Gon dies and he leaves but then he seems happy to kill more Jedi with his overall plan supposedly being to turn the Jedi Temple into a new Sith Adademy, even though the Separatists apparently wanted to split due to corruption and being ignored in favour of more central worlds.

Vader was complete strange when we first saw him. This weird sci fi suit, strange breathing etc combined with mystical powers. He was with the bad guys, but separate from them. Later on we learn more of his motivations as well.
And the Emperor is so interesting as all this power and technology is controlled by just this werid old guy in a cape. He seems unassuming but hes the most powerful, evil guy of all. We get a sense of how cruel and evil he is, and how he enjoys lauding his power over others. He draws out the rebels destruction just to taunt look.
While not the deepest characters in fiction, they are interesting.
Dooku's motivations aren't even disussed in the film. He just seems generally bad. What he said to Obi wan about wanting ot sop the sith was clearly a lie, and he works for Darth Sidious...but what? In the movies he never says what he really wants. It seems like he doesn't really care about the separatists and is just manipulating them as part of Sidious' plan...I think? He's just generally with the bad guys doing bad stuff, he wears black and he is played by Christopher Lee so we know he's evil. I can't really explain, based on attack of the clones, what Dooku actually wants or believes.
