I should point out, those are in Austrailian dollars, so they may well be less than they appear.
Made by a female sculpter, by coincidence.
I would get some but I am far too much of a snob to play 40K. Being a elitist gaming hipster, I play Battlefleet gothic so I can feel superior to the 40K peasents.

Still $50, basically. Those are $5 pieces of plastic, actually more than standard Games Workshop, or at least on par.

Okay I am an asshole that's full of hate (as Cnauovea has learned tryign to persuade me to not hate Age of Sigmar so much) but GW have actually done some stuff on the sexism front that has surprised me.
In the latest campaign/story book they released, called Fall of Cadia, the sisters of battle are front and centre.
They show up to rescue the other defenders and are lead by a living saint woman who kicks tons of ass and stabs Abaddon (evil master of evilness) in the spine, forcing him to retreat. The sisters don't fuck it up, get over shadowed, have a man telling them what to do or any of the other stupid shit GW normally pulls with them. They just legit kick ass and take names. Most of them get killed in a heroic last stand (but most of the planet also gets destroyed, so I won't hold that against them!)
What's more, another major character is a new Inquisitor Lady who has been lost in a necron time warp and is horrified to see the Imperium forces using demonic witches(the living saint) evil demonic ghosts (the legion of the damned) and horrible mutants (the space wolves wolfen). In the end she helps the Imperials because the forces of chaos have got to be stopped, but afterwards when the saint woman thanks her, she says "I wasn't saving you, I was shooting Abaddon, there's a difference." This is cool, and, these two talking might make this the first time GW has passed the Bechdel test.
The special character set (whcih costs a ridiculous amount, obviously) for this campaign has 5 characters in it. Theres the saint lady, her two body guards, the inquisitor and a tech priest guy whose really weird and freaky. So the new models for this thing contains 4 women to one man.
Credit where its due, GW has actually managed to surpass my (admittedly very low) expectations. Well played, GW, well played...

This is cool, and, these two talking might make this the first time GW has passed the Bechdel test. Not really, since Abaddon is a man.

Well, two women actually talking is... impressive.
Though to be fair, Eldar talk all the time and they're all women.

Not joking though, this is the first time I can remember two named women talking to each other in 40K Lore. Obviously in the novels they must and more than one sister of battle is present at a time when they are doing stuff, so obviously women must talk to each other, its just the first one I can remember being specifically stated. That implies its sort of a rarity! In the entire sisters of battle backstory, there is no documented example of women talking to each other. They talk to men, men show up and give them order or information, but they are never described as talking to each other. Now obviously we are meant to assume they talk to each other normally, but it shows the focus of the background that in their entire backstory, no two of them ever talk to each other.
StyxD they talk about how one of them thinks the other one is a witch mainly, Abbadon just gets mentioned. Give em a break, its GW, they are trying!

Damn it, StyxD, you just tricked me into defending GW!
Now I have to go and prey to the dakr gods for absolution from this crime or I wont be a true GW fan.
Remember, real GW fans absolute hate GW and everything they do.

Well, they've finally released models and rules for 40k Adeptus Custodes... but alongside the Sisters of Silence, who have their own kinda neat anti-warp stuff going on. They get a separate codex too, which is good in some ways or bad in others. Sounds expensive.
