I didn't realise this, but Fox News is on hand to let me know that evil muslims have taken over and established Sharia law over areas of Britain.
There is a Caliphate in Britain!
Our police are scared to go there, muslim enforcers will beat you if you go there!
It is a take over! Europe is finished!
You might be wondering where the Caliphate in Britain is.
Well, fortunately, Fox News has narrowed it down.
It's Birmingham.
Speaking as a British person, I want to be clear that this is entirely factual and accurate.
Rumours suggest Birmingham will be renamed Birming because Ham is not allowed under Islam.
My children are already taken suicide bombing classes and they are bulldozing my house to put up a mosque.
Oh wait...I actually DON'T live in an insane, racist fantasy imagined by the assholes who run Fox News.
I have literally no idea what this lunatic "expert" and the creepy host woman are talking about (why can't see seem to move her face when she isn't talking?)
Even by the standards of shit stirrers Fox News, this was exceptionally stupid, and the internet was soon awash with people mocking such rubbish.
The 'expert' has posted an apology,
You can listen to him squirm here.
He claims that he just got the wrong information, but seems to act as if his lies about Birmingham are a single mistake, or one fact he got wrong.
In fact he was spouting an entire, insane conspiracy theory filled with numerous lies while the scary host lady nodded, agreed, and encouraged him. Note that she wasn't surprised, or saying "Really? Are you sure? That sounds crazy?" like most people would. She already new the Fox party line and was happy to tow it. The bit about Birmingham was just the most laughable element of this toxic BS.
As he mentioned, he's been on lots of shows peddling his crap, and you can bet he's been pushing similiar divisive, racist idiocy before, its just this time he went a bit too far and made a fool of himself.
The horrible truth is that people who watch Fox are being fed this kind of poison every night. They think they are in a world were evil muslims are taking over, Europe is a caliphate and America is the only bastion of civilisation left (kept safe by praying to Jesus and low taxes for the ultra wealthy...that stuff is like crosses to a vampire for muslims.)
I've heard stories before about how Canada is under Sharia, Glenn Beck said Muslims were going to invade up through Spain etc, so this is just the latest symptom of an on going campaign of fear and misinformation.
I don't normally agree with David Cameron (the Prime Minister over here) but I have to go with his summation of the Fox News 'expert'.
“When I heard this, frankly, I choked on my porridge and I thought it must be April Fools’ day,” Cameron said. “This guy’s clearly a complete idiot.”
