Apparently it's based off one type of comic design.
I think if they did an more used design then it would be called out for uncreativity. I saw the suicide squad trailer and I think the voice is down. The voice is important.

That Joker might not actually be the Joker. Apparently.
That Joker might actually be Jason Todd... who the original Joker beat to death. Apparently.

Yeah, I noticed the Joker in the Suicide Squad trailer had a "J" carved into his cheek under the left eye. Joker did that to Jason Todd when he "killed" him. He might have done that to himself as well at some point, so I guess it isn't definitive.
If it is Jason the boy has a serious identity crisis.
Everybody is marking everybody in the DC universe now. Guess they're all trying to be the Phantom.

Also, in Batman Beyond, didn't that one guy who got fucked up by the Joker end up also turning into the Joker later?

Yeah, that was Tim Drake.
Batman Beyond had some seriously dark moments.

That's probably why I liked it.
That and the movie did well with Terry's character.

Yeah. Interesting.
Also, it is officially in the trailer, Batman is branding people in the new film.

...branding... *sighes* We need more redemption and forgiveness stories... Marvel seems to be doing that to some extent. The end of The Winter Soldier was about redemption. Guardians also had a bit of a redemption theme.

Not sure how I feel about the trench coat wearing Superman who appears to kill a baby Brainiac.

That particular incarnation has something to do with what if the DC Universe were exceptionally dark and grim.

I am quite sick of dark super hero movies at this point. I don't want superman to be as dark as batman, they seem to have it stuck in their heads that dark superheroes are cooler and kids will like them more and yet seen to forget that when they made superman and a few other characters "darker" in the late 80s early 90s it almost killed comic books. Guess people never learn
