Oh I do hope that Canada builds a wall to keep the Americans out. They have to live with their choice now. StyxD, don't worry, it will only be to keep Americans out. You, on the other hand, will probably get tasered in the airport. I hope tasers aren't fatal for you.
...no, that's not true, and we won't build a wall. Instead I think we'll make use of that new trade deal with Europe.
And at least they won't be getting a corrupt president who cheats and who is about to die of illness and who beat Bernie Sanders in the campaign and who has a problem with private servers and who has a suspicious charity foundation and who you hated so much Hark.
Because don't worry, Trump won't be corrupt, won't throw tantrums, and we'd be lucky if he died somehow but he won't because he is the healthiest, and he certainly didn't beat Bernie Sanders, and hey, at least he didn't use voter fraud (except that one time where that woman voted twice because she thought the first one might be changed to a vote for Hillary), and his charity foundation is totally more legit than Clinton's. So yay.

You could probably get past it, you're Polish after all, not American (well, provided you don't get tazered when you step off the plane).
How does that work? I don't really understand currency, beyond knowing that a higher oil price is good for us here.
That's something to watch out for, not sure if it'll go that far, but I'm willing to put money on hate crimes increasing like they did in the UK. I wonder when he's going to start the mass deportations? Will he use cattle cars?

The only plus here is years back I promised Vast that Hillary will never, ever become president.
So I got that.
You're welcome.

Why does this feel oddly appropriate?

You, on the other hand, will probably get tasered in the airport. I hope tasers aren't fatal for you. If speaking English is not enough, I plan on shouting "liberté, égalité, fraternité" as loud as I can. Cause it's the extend of my knowledge of French. Even if it fails, those are pretty cool words to die by. Incidentally, a friend sent me this yesterday. Apparently, there's a Canadian horror film set in Poland. No wonder they're tasing Poles at the airport. You think we're monsters with inhuman accents! ...no, that's not true, and we won't build a wall. Instead I think we'll make use of that new trade deal with Europe. Thing is, Europe is going down as well. Soon, it'll all be a bunch of small countries governed by glad idiots subsidized by Russia. Hell, you should make use of the trade deal with China. At least they're sane-ish. I wonder when he's going to start the mass deportations? Will he use cattle cars? Throw in detention camps for Muslims. There is precedent. Why does this feel oddly appropriate? What is with this forum and people's obsession with the allegedly symbolic meaning of "No Children"?

I think its because I'm becoming a misanthrope now. For some reason "No Children" seems to fit that nicely.

Your written language contains too many accents, that's sure to spook English-speakers.
And it'd be hypocritical to take a move from Putin's playbook and arrest/shoot them all before they're a threat.
Hey now, I've ever heard of the damned song, I've been listening to psychedelic rock this whole time!

Your written language contains too many accents, that's sure to spook English-speakers. But surely not as many as Turkish or Vietnamese? But if this spooks them, they should be even more spooked: Polish also has nearly as many digraphs as accented letters - and in their case you don't know where they are! Rałr. And it'd be hypocritical to take a move from Putin's playbook and arrest/shoot them all before they're a threat. Hypocritical or not, there is no one who could do this. People all around the West have spoken. They want their fascism back. And right now probably nothing sort of a tragedy can reverse this historical course.

Jesus! Don't sneak up on me with that stuff!
Right, I forgot that fascism was trendy now. I suspect that The Donald is going to provide that tragedy, at the very least he'll do his level best to provide it.

Alright. We've had a little bit to absorb this. It's been a wild election, but it's finally over.
I'm gonna give huge props to Hillary here. I seriously wouldn't have held it against her if she had decided to contest the results, there were some really close states. I expected it was going there after Podesta came out and gave the short, and awkward, "Go home and we'll figure it out in the morning" speech. Instead she conceded a short while afterward. We get to put this behind us now. It happened, now let's live with this.
We were dealt a shit hand on both sides. It just sucked all around. However, I'm kinda thinking this is the less bad outcome. If not for purely selfish reasons. I've never been convinced on Trump's stand on the 2nd amendment, but I knew where Hillary stood. In that regard I'm a little less worried. I don't care for Trump's views on trade, but I guess we're gonna give it a shot anyway. Hillary was a little too saber rattly with Putin, but Trump is a bit too chummy. I wasn't interested in Hillary's offer of "free" college, if something is gonna be free it's gonna be worthless.
If you're okay with legalizing pot than yesterday was a big win in that regard. People are getting pretty open to the idea. Prolly need the escape.
There were a couple of gun control measures in some states that didn't turn out as well as I was hoping. Kind of a mixed bag. Two of em were in California so I wasn't expecting much there.
I'm not keen on the idea of a wall, so I'm hoping that doesn't go anywhere. There are less obnoxious ways to control immigration. I've never really had an issue with immigration, I'm just not gonna give you a fruit basket for showing up.

Regarding college being free, I'd argue it would depend on the system; if it's a case of "everyone must go and we'll pay for it", I can see it becoming worthless, but if it's set up so that only certain courses which are really essential (eg: biomedical, teaching and engineering ones) with places on those being limited to the absolute best students I'd say it's a fair deal. I remember reading about www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/11/04/dyson-blows-a-breath-of-fresh-air-into-education-by-starting-its/ the other day, which sounds like a really good alternative.

I wonder if he's going to try going after his enemies? Everything indicates he's vindictive as hell, I'm pretty sure he'd have journalists, rival politicians, and people who said mean things about him arrested if he could, but there's no way he could do that legally.
He'll probably just start suing people like mad.

Winning was probably the biggest middle finger he could give his enemies.
I'm guessing he'll make em sweat it out.
Either that or collect all the dirty laundry he can for future use.

Right, I forgot that fascism was trendy now. I suspect that The Donald is going to provide that tragedy, at the very least he'll do his level best to provide it. I don't think he's capable on his own of staring it. I don't know how bad he can fuck up USA itself, but he'll be somewhat constrained by the Congress in this. No, I'm waiting for Putin's next move. I've also been thinking about bright sides of this situation. So far I've come up with: 1. Reading comments on feminist blogs. This may seem cruel of me, but I do find it fascinating how for some people this basically equals apocalypse. Perhaps living in Eastern Europe inoculated me against such things... 2. Giving Hark grief for his predictions and treatment of Hillary. 3. The world can literally only go up from this place.

Wait for the US to ditch NATO, and then "reclaim" the countries surrounding Russia. I wouldn't put it past Trump to work with the Russians either, he already has ties to them, he's already a fan of Putin, and he's unscrupulous as all hell. Don't expect Canada to be safe, the fuckers are going to come from the north and lay claim to the oil, they likely had a sub operating up there recently. I think I'm going to start stocking up on 30-06 and 5.56mm, just in case. The real irony here is that my preferred brand of cheap, reliable 30-06 is made in Russia.
