As I said, less hyped for the VP themselves and more for the effects on the map and the general changes and FLC stuff. Maybe the VP will be fun to fight.
But overall its just another evil race I'll probably barely play. May give Saltspite and maaaaybe Harkon a playthrough.

You don't like to play evil races? Don't you want to destroy the warhammer world (you can pretned you work for GW!)
Or you could just imagine your own backstory in your head where the otherside did something terrible and you destroying them is totally justified.
Pirate are evil....but its funny, loveable kind of evil. They will rape and pillage, but also warm your heart.

I don't usually play evil factions all that much. Though I've enjoyed both the Vampire Counts and the Dark Elves.
In this case it isn't just that. I dunno. We'll see.

Whats the problem? What don't you like about? I thought they seemed really interesting. I like black powder weapons in general. I like all their lords (dreadfleet for the win.) I like that they expanded on the fun white dwarf army list with some crazy forge stuff to make a really interesting army.
I like that they have a cannon that is as big as a freaking house.
The lumberjack team are the only disappointment I've had. Everything else has been cool.

You know what would be funny? If they put "an old friend" at the end of the FLC tracker again to freak people out and then it really was Boris.

They're a bunch of pirate zombies doing zombie things. I've seen that already, it was in Pirates of the Caribbean and, here's the kicker, it was only fun once.
Hell, they even seem like they'd fit my playstyle, I love sitting back and shooting things, outranging the enemy is my favourite thing to do ever. But they're slow and they're, well, zombies.

Cnauovea playing total war "I've seen these tropes else where in media...and is what my forces are doing really morally right? Am I leading the kind of culture i would really want to inflict on the world?"
Me playing total war "Yar! I'm a pirate! Time to walk the plank, karl Franz! Yo ho! Hahha the enemy are running away! Run them all down! Stabby stab!"

Empire revamp ideas-
The empire has lots of legendary units. What if they had a system like tomb kings where they have some elite units that you unlock by doing things in the campaign? Like uniting provinces or something?
Also they could represent a lot of hte electors as special lords you recruit. So not faction leaders, more like the vampire blood lines, where they might look a bit different and have some special skills (Maybe they each have a rune fang automatically, that would be cool.) You could get specific ones by bringing specific empire provinces into the Empire. So you get a reward for reunifying the country.

I triggered a guy on the CA forum and he went freaking insane! I feel like I should get an x box achievement.
HAHhAHAH! They went through and removed basically the entire thread cause it was just Green0 losing his damn mind! Awesome.

I saw that. You were just making a joke and it somehow made him get very angry. I kinda feel a bit bad for the guy, or I did at first. He had the idea that CA had somehow made the agreement to implement 6th and 7th edition, an implied agreement at that, and he felt betrayed. Funny thing is that CA said they were mostly using 8th edition for their inspiration. Poor fellow is a bit of a Buddhist/Stoic proof of concept; his over attachment to his own ideal caused him suffering when he could not controll his reaction. So while I could feel sorry for him that all stopped as soon as he called one of the (30 something year olds) "boy" in a condescending fashion. Ever since Nachoes did that shit it has pissed me off to no small extent when others have done the same. So I lose all sympathy for him and hope he was banned.
Did the mods inform you about the reason for the thread closure? I really feel bad for the amount of crap those two have to deal with.
I'm sick and was asleep for the start. Has Sotek played yet? How has it been going?

yeah that 6th and 7th comment was raelly strange. Its specifically 8th! They add stuff from other additions causee they are cool adn fleshing it out, but the basis they work from is 8th and they've always said that.
What he was saying was barely even in response to me, he just seemed generally upset. Like something in what I said just flipped his switch.
The mods removed everything he said and everyone refering to him adn anythign he said. It went from 50 responses to about 5!

People look at this wawrhammer thing in the wrong way nad get themselves upset.
They have their headcanon, which they mistake for universal truth adn get upset when it isn't exactly like that.
I try to look at what I'm getting nad change my head canon to fit it.
For example-
You can get Strigoi ghoul kings with the last name Carstein. I could say "THAT DOESNT MAKE SENSE! GAME IS RUINED! YOU FUCKED UP THE LOOOORE! THE PRECIOUS LOOOOOOORE!"
Or
I cna make something up to make that make sense I just assumed the vampires generally band together as the bloodlines share common goals (hence blood knights being a unit a von carstein can command) so the none legendary vampires in a faction might be of many blood differnet bloodlines. Since the vampires are like nobility, they will adopt other vampires into their noble house, and the new recruit will change their name accordingly. So the ghoul king is obviously strigoi blood but is adopted under the von carstein (or other noble vampire) name. As I mentioned, the vampire masters you summon are much stronger in their blood line, so their triats are more pronounced. A regular Lahmia, von carstein, blood dragon or necrach I would assume seem pretty similar, but when their blood is stronger in the more ancient vampires, their evil heritage is more clear.
The game is what it is, so if you stick to ideas it doesn't support, you just make yourself unhappy.
Direfin is in the game shes on the warhammer wiki now (not hte total war one, the regular warhammer one). There's no point trying to deny it or fight it. Tim to change head canon to include her or you will be miserbale.

Regarding your wuestion on the tournament, I better not spoil it if you want to watch! It was certainly fun.
The vampire coast can do a lot of different builds and styles of play.
