I saw it. Looks interesting.
Poor Noctilus got blasted real great that one time... but then Sotek broke that build by bringing Noctilus on foot. Funny stuff.

He looked like a total boss before he died though! I love Noctilus riding the colossus thing, thats actually really genius. Did I mention that? I can't remember. His war ship is a giant insane ship wreck of stuff bolted together with evil magic, and so on land they have him ride around on an equally ramshackle construction.
Its two separate things form the lore being brought together that fit perfectly.

I'm proud of Sotek. He 2-0ed the guy who beat him last time and he's not been known as a MP type of fellow, mostly just Lore and all that, but he's done pretty well. I'm curious about how it will all go for the second round.

Oh also I went and read some Lokhir Fellheart lore and he really was the only choice for the FLC lord. In his background he battles the vampire coast and the lizardmen (vampire coast gets mentioned a lot in the lore actually, though they weren't a big deal on the table top.) On top of being Mr Black Ark, he was a perfect pick.
Something that I enjoy is that sometimes total war represents things that the table top couldn't. Black arks were just background colour, where as in this one his status as a raider and a pirate can be demonstrated in a real way.

The one to beat in the tournament is Tlaxlan Soothsayer from my understanding. He's basically just a monster and Sotek gave him some trouble.

During the tournament they have repeatedly made mention of Dog of War, including an awkward bit where a guy seemed to confirm them and they then gave conflicting stories about what he actually meant.
So there is a little good news for ya!
I was thinking about the armies, and in game one there were 9 sides. In game two with Vampire coast there are 6. So that means up to three more.
Araby and Dogs of war puts it at 8.
They might not do the same amount, but if they do we will be getting some crazy stuff.

I'm not all that pleased with it.

Why not? They just gave exactly what everyone was asking for! No goofy beastman axes. No goofy animations that look wrong. No goofy yellow uniforms.
And they come in two varieties!
This just fixed the only flaw we'd seen in this DLC.
How are you not pleased? Have you been going on that forum too long? Are you showing Canadian bias towards liking lumber jacks? Are you a lumberjack? Are you okay? Do you sleep all night and work all day?

"Well. They used to be AP with axes. Something that the VP roster didn't have.
Now we've got living versions of gunnery mobs (pistols) and Deckhand mobs. Basically the same thing, maybe a bit better but liable to run away so who knows?
We traded a unique unit concept for this overlapping stuff? The sword and pistols one is probably just regular old Free Company Militia from the Empire roster too... do they get anything unique? That makes them different? Gosh but I hope so, that might make it better.
Sure the old axe militia needed to be recoloured and given more piratey accessories... and probably better axes and better animations too... but at least they did something different, which we've now lost. I think it is a shame.
I'd rather have all three."

They have a special rule called rowdy apparantly. I dunno what other strange things they have.
The axe ones animations were wrong adn the axes looked weird. If they made ones iwth proper axes and animations thats fair enough. But these guys look like what I wanted.

Oh sure, they look better.
But they're ultimately nothing special. Alarielle's Tree Spirits add more to the roster than these two units do. Heck, even Alith Anar's special Shadow Warriors add more value... and they're just special Shadow Warriors. Arkhan's Vampire Count units are actually useful!
This, on the other hand, adds nothing.
