I actually think the Vetalids might have had a hand in creating the Knarl. Maybe not creating... I'm not sure what to think of it. But I don't think the Lel necessarily had anything to do with it. Not that they couldn't have... though I don't think the timeline lines up for it quite. I remember it being mentioned that the Knarl first dealt with the remnants of the Vetalid Empire. That might mean they were present before the Lel, or before the Lel became quite so advanced, since the Vetalids are precursors.
I also think that the Vetalids and the Inquisitors were not quite on good terms. I think it is plausible that the Knarl had something to do with that conflict one way or another... Just maybe.

What the hell are the Knarl though?!
Unlike you we don't know what Hark's up to before even Hark does!

I'm sure you'll see one in the comic soon.
Though the Card Game has them... as well as something else rather interesting indeed. I mean a bunch of stuff that is interesting but one thing in particular.

Want to know what a Knarl is? Buy the card game. It has multiple pictures of them!
This is why Canuovea is throwing around phrases like "Precursors". Clash of Nations has all kinds of cool information as well as exciting, tactical gameplay.
Yeah I know its shameless shilling! I just think the card game is really cool.
Canuovea isn't having to use his weird sixth sense ability to read my mind for this one.
I'm pretty sure he also knows what a Lel looks like.

I'm fairly sure you mentioned precursors before the Card Game.
But yes I do know what the Lel look like. Lots of neat stuff in the Eldex vs West expansion especially.

I remember we came up with the name precursor to describe them for the card game, but I may have said it elsewhere after that.

I seem to recall hearing it somewhere too, though you might have talked about "precursor races" that came before the races we all know and love, some of the things that Eldex clearly fears and hates because they can't control them.

Didn't it come up in the timeline? Maybe not, but I certainly heard the term before getting the card game.

No, calls them prehistoric races on the timeline page.

Somewhere else then. Probably.

Oh! Or maybe it was from proofreading the rulebook?

Yeah there wasn't a proper name for them until the card game, when we needed a word to sum them up. I think Red Ned came up with that one.
