I can just imagine how being on the receiving end of that "far calling" thing might be awkward. You could be like the prince, mid conversation and you suddenly go into a trance, or you could be riding, or swimming, or fighting, or walking a tightrope over a volcano, and suddenly some asshole calls you.
Can someone resist being contacted, or break off contact? Seems like if could be a good way to kill someone if you know they're in the middle of something potentially dangerous, and you want to stage an accident.

Yeah, I was going to comment on the same thing, it just kept slipping my mind.
I mean, that's a pretty sad scene and I can empathize with Mashul, but I just can't stop thinking what would have happened if the king called a short time earlier.
King: "Hello, son? You're so grounded, young man." Prince: "Father, no-" *is dead because someone disemboweled his motionless body*

You have to willingly accept it, and the recipient would need to have mind magic. If the person doesn't want it they would break off with just small discomfort and distraction.
Using those kind of potions takes a big tole on the person using them. If you are in poor health or elderly its not a good idea to make use of them.
So if you start trying to use this to stop the Tolpish invasion, you are probably going to have a bad time.

So you can't "accidentally" kill people, and you can't even scare the hell out of other races or convince some poor bastard he's a prophet? What's the point then?

I don't know, seems like a bit of a let down if you can't be a shit disturber with it.

Okay, the latest page discussion got me thinking.
There are Golta in Jaydia, right?
How do they mentally cope with being in relative proximity to the actual Tolpish?

Honestly, the Golta (even though I like them!) seem pretty ignorant, I think a good number of them would have that fact fly right over there heads.
The rest would probably recognise that these long ears are probably the original Tolpish and be extra wary of them.

Golta don't really connect it to the actual Tolpish. To them its just "generic foreigner who is bad."
I imagine some of them might be surprised to realise the original Tolpish are even still around.
Since most Golta live in Vellastrom and have no interest in other countries, the specifics of which ugly evil foreigners are more evil or ugly than another is lost on them. And learning more about foreigners seems a rather anti-charter way to behave!

Now I want to see a scene of a Tolpish (actual one) bragging to a Golta that they're the Tolpish that traumatized their race so much.
Speaking of Golta, do they have a plan of finally building a wall on their southern border with Junlock lands? I mean, that should be easy for them.

They'll make the golta Nation great again!
The Golta dont actually have a continuous wall but they have lots of forces, defences, and garrisons.
The Golta nation is often short on resources due to their isolated nature, so a huge project like a wall would be difficult for them to pull off.

Is that rabbit wearing a Cansaibe skin?

Yup. Seems something civilized nations seem to do plenty of. Especially slaving civilized nations, eh?
Bregus, the Lockskin Praetor wears... Junlock skin. Bakaraz, hammer of the spotted house cats, wears the skin of... the spotted house cats. Him and Bregus should have tea.

Gotetra are civilized and own slaves, but they don't flay people and wear their skins. At least I hope they don't.

The answer is yes it is. The follow on question should be "whose skin is he wearing?" I don't know if it will get said outright, but you might be able to put it together from the next page.
