My RPGs are very high brow (or pretentious, depending on who you ask) so the Rat Utopia is a reference to the utopia experiments using rats to study the effects of over population.

See we get to have fun, but we also learn something.
Purity was meant ot be like an ultimate monster villain, just a pure force of evil. Just a bad adaptive didn't seem adequate enough, so I came up with something more crazy.
There is a lot of political debate and different view points in Weird Britannia but she is symbolic of the most extreme political positions that leave violence as the only option for their practitioners.
I had planned out what she was before Chapter 1, which is why I could do the rat appearances all the way through. I also got to use the phrase about how people in London are never far from a rat (I think that's actually an exaggeration, but it works well here.)
I wouldn't want people to think that talking animal and nazi dogs were as weird as Weird Britannia can get. Psychic swarms, visions of the future, mutant monsters, you never know what will happen next.
